well if you still have the seed on the stem you might need to help it shed if it doesn't get rid of it in like 24 hours I would try to rip it off here's why:
I had some sprouts do this to me recently, it's the first time it ever happened to me. Anyways they were bagseeds and I had other seedlings already growing so I decided to experiment a little bit. I tried to take off one but wasn';t to careful and basically it just ripped the seed off the stem. Mine was like yours no crack really just a hole in the seed. The other one I just let grow and figured it would shed the shell itself and it didn't. The leaves started growing inside the shell and by the time I removed the shell the leaves were all yellow. I figured it would just green up and grow normally but it never did it just died. So the next seedling I cracked that did that I waited for the shell to slightly crack and just pryed the two sides apart very carefully and the seedling is just fine.
