reuse of soil question

OK so I was given 4 clones I have 4 pots with soil in them that were being use only has had in the mix there were plants in the mix but they got ripped up so there still a little bit of root from the transfer so is it OK to reuse

I'm all for economical methods, but I (personally) think reusing dirt is pushing the concept too far. I would get new soil. Why dick around with the depleted stuff? Give yourself the best chance for success.

Yep, pitch it out and get new. In the big picture outcome, soil cost is nothing.

What about re using promix ? Any thoughts on that anyone?

I thought about using prolix but you have to add stuff to it I think

i have done an experiment side by side same strain same soil same nutes same lighting re using soil has NO benenfits IMO I I use promix and I have been reading on the whole reusing soil so I went and dug out all the old roots and anything remaining of the old plant matter and I ran the blueberrydisel plant along side of the other 5 in new promix soil first thinng is first it is almost 1/3 smaller than all the other plants the old soil definately stunted the growth rate the bud sites are slower to fill in that its counter parts and the soil also retains more moisture for some reason, the only benefit I see is that the trich production is higher than the other 5 bud the buds are noticably smaller so smaller buds for more crystal ? Maybe if that's what u want b not me lol so as for reusing soil goes HELL NO just get new dirt. And I used the old soil in the plant from veg through till flower there is no benefits . IMO

Apparently a lot of folks do reuse soil. That link is a RIU thread from '10, I'm sure there are more, but you'll have to do your own searches if it interests you. According to my five minutes of research, (I'm an expert now, right?) the best way to reuse is to amend it with whatever nutrients it now lacks, mix it up a bit and let it 'age'. The link has good details.
Myself, I'm not going to bother. I don't grow that much. I'm an indoor gardener and spend enough time on this hobby as it is. I'm not going to try to tweak dirt to save a couple of bucks. I don't throw the old stuff away, I just use it in the yard and garden mixed with the dirt that's out there.
