It is but make sure you really flush your plants before you harvest. I use a compost barrel and wet it really good and let it dry out really good. If you do it this way make sure you keep turning the soil so you don't get any mold or bug infestation. Some compost set ups are made to keep it from getting mold but bugs can get in easily. Good luck

I throw all my used pot soil into the compost. Re ammend then re use.

I dont need to use bottled nutes this way. Sprinkle in the organics and mix it up.

I'm in the same boat but with foxfarm ocean forest however I don't have an external compost pile. I want to go no-till and basically pluck the old root mass out and drop a seedling in. After tons of searching and asking questions, I've got a list of ingredients but for the time being I went with buildasoil's craft blend which serves as a re-amendment, top-dress and even base for tea. Not sure how big your grow is, I'm looking at about 25G or 4ft³ worth of soil total. The 12lb. bag for $32 will last me a few years however if I tried to buy most of these ingredients, even at their smallest quantities, I'd be well over $100. For the first re-use I'll be mixing everything in a kiddie pool using 1 cup per cu/ft. of the craft blend along with EWC and perlite. Going forward I'll top-dress it each cycle based on needs while going with various clover, pea and flax as a living mulch.
