reveging grafted plant for ever?

Do you think its a good idea to make a grafted plant with different strains and just reveg it every time i end a cycle?
 
I wouldn't reveg it over and over I would just keep it in perma-veg and only flower clones from it. So in answer to your question, no I don't think it's a good idea because it is a big stress and you might lose the awesome grafted plant one of those times. If you keep it in veg itll be fine for an indefinite amount of time (i dont believe anyone has posted a max lifespan for cannabis if kept in veg.)
 
ok, so maybe the better idea is to make 1 motherplant grafted and then take cutting from it everytime.
but can i keep her in small pot of 1 litter ?
and use flourocent coolwhite light 18W ?
 
I agree with EverythingsHazy just using it for clones...reveg takes long and is stressful. You wouldn't want your effort to be in vain.
 
You can keep it in a small pot, yes, but you will need to keep chanigng the soil/feeding it if you want it to put out vigorously growing stems for clone purposes. Spindly clones don't take very well..

I watched a video recently where a breeder (DJ Short if I recall correctly) claimed to have a clone that was 20 years old.

Some years ago a friend gave me a plant as a gift with 4-5 different strains grafted to the original Northern Lights plant, it was a great present, and a great talking point, it took the guy about 6 months to do it, but as a practicable way of cloning or grafting, the bottom line says ................ I can put roots on a cutting in 10 days ...so whats the point

yes but i highly doubt its the same plant its a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone of a clone going back for 20 years to the original

If the plant doesn't have a set death timeframe, it shouldn't be any more difficult keeping a vegging cannabis plant (esp a bonsai) growing for 20 years than it would be for 1 year. You just need to kep doing feeding and soil changes to keep up with it breaking down.

Whoa that sounds like an amazing plant!!! Grafting is an art, your friend is a true artist ;) I think having a grafted mother plant with different varieties would be really neato, and a space saver... I would graft one just for the joy of it. I agree though better to take clones off such a plant and flower them, keep the mother in veg.
How well did your grafted plant grow, did you have any problems with it?
