Rez temperature

My rez temps out right around 80 degrees and I realize this isn't the worst temp in the world but I would really like to be around 65-68 degrees, does anyone know of a fairly inexpensive technique to lower and maintain the rez temperature?

Dude there a bunch of threads here with that question. They use old refrigerators to run a circuit through or little radiators. Let me share this and do with it what you may - the secret is keeping the solution OUT of the reservoir. Simply running tubing in a huge loop as it goes from the res to the plants or vice versa is a start. As many feet as you dare and as your pump can handle. Keep in mind that as the line increases in length it increases the volume and, thus, lowers your pump pressure. Pipelines solve this by frequent compressor stations where the gas or liquid is gathered and re-compressed to a higher pressure and sent on down the line. In a grow room this could be as simple as another small reservoir with its own pump to boost that pressure in a long line. Or do the refrigerator bit.

First thing you can do is move your reservoir out of the grow room, you can drop your temps 5 - 7 degrees that way. If you are running a DWC system, you may need to use ice bottles or something like that, what kind of system/setup are you running?

I went the old fashioned route and bought a chiller. No more fuckin around with frozen bottles for me

Yea just buy a chiller. It doesn't alway keep it ideal in the middle of the summer but its the next best thing. The second thing that can be done is OXYGENATE! IF YOU CAN'T keep ideal temps then add loads and loads of oxygen!!! Air stones- I have 4 going in my reservoir now. Roots love it. If your temps are rolling upwards of 8o and there is nothing you can do to bring them down--------- oxygenate like a mad man.

warm water holds much much less do than cold water. keep temps cold and not worry about. crapload of air pumps and stones
