ripped alot of roots when transplanting

I pulled it badly from the bottom its been 3 days know it seems ok but its like growing slowly i gave her a good rest from her lights and shes steady know with her str leaves

Both of these plants are from seed planted at the same time and were the same size at transplant. The plant on the left is the plant from above that I tore the roots up. The plant on the right I transplanted leaving the roots intact.

I'm still extremely confused on how you hurt the roots with LST.

LST is the practice of pulling branches downwards to allow more colas to grow while keeping an even canopy.
 
When I grew in buckets (do still depending) I regularly took a wide butchers knife and keeping it parallel to the side would push all the way to the bottom in 6 or 7 places. Every week. Plants do just fine. Now mostly growing in bags I use skewers and pierce the living hell out of the medium. Everywhere and especially under the plant. Before every feeding. They love it and roots close to the surface get pulled up occasionally. Cover it up and keep going.

If you try and stretch it over and it doesn't have a well formed root system the stress from being bent over can pull on the plant causing it start to lift out of the growing medium. I've done it when I used to LST but never enough to rip off any roots but I can see how it could happen.

Yeah tks bro i did like did this was 4 days ago looks fine know but its growing slowly maybe its stunned

I've transplanted too many to list. And damp really helps. Just did 4 today. Lost very little root because being damp it helps hold onto some soil. And you NEVER want to tottaly remove all the old soil, it helps it transition to the new soil. Also working with damp soil is like having an extra hand while handling the roots. The dryer the root the easier it can break.

Recover from what? Previous posts show someone cutting of the bottom of the rootball. I posted ripping up the root ball showing it didn't hurt the plant. I don't know what people are doing when they transplant but I've been ripping and breaking up roots for decades without issues. I never even thought about transplant shock until I read about it on the cannabis forums.

People today are using this product and that product when they transplant and I don't think it's doing them any good. Most talk about time for the plant to recover. I don't use anything and my plants just keep on growing without missing a beat even when I tear up the roots.

That's great to hear. Do you water after you transplant. Most do. I'm asking because I've suspected it might cause shock...too wet.
Trying to learn something here.

I water just enough to make sure that it's at the high end of being moist but not what you would call wet.
