Risk-vs-Reward

What's your risk vs reward level?
I'm trying to get some opinions on the question "How much would they have to pay me to do that every day?"

We all know the risks our armed forces take daily, for little pay.
Some do it for a short time & some make a career out of it.
Some wouldn't risk it at all.
Firefighters have very risky jobs & they know it. They receive high pay & benifits accordingly.
So what's your acceptable risk level? What's your life/health worth to you?

What's the risky'est thing you'ed do for money?

What's the risky'est thing you've done for money? & why did you quit?

Riskiest thing I ever did wasn't for money . I flew in a variety of different helo aircraft as a door gunner over areas in the mid east , while we were only fired upon ocassionally it was dangerous . Quit because I can't believe in my government and seen too much terrible stuff . Sure they paid us but when you feel like your not the good guy anymore it's hard to keep on doing it . Also landing on ships was dangerous too . We were almost killed a couple of times just doing that . I still like flying , it's fun to do but I don't get paid to anymore .

When I was young and dumb I took all risks regardless of how small the reward. I have since learned better. The ratio is the same, but now the weight is all on the reward side.

I served 8 years active duty Navy, and then 15 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Getting out of bed was pretty risky for me for quite a few years. lol!
:blsmoke:
I retired from the fire service after I sustained a career ending, line of duty injury.

Doing a strip show at an all female party. :o

I wasn't paid and almost lost my virginity, forcibly. My nerves couldn't take it.

That must have been so hard. ~ducking~ cn

Actually, the wildest thing I did for money was handle some truly fascinating reagents "bareback", no confining latex. My hands look pretty normal, considering. cn

It's very hard to define risk and risk tolerance. I could be comfortable loosing 20k while the next guy would have a nervous breakdown. Or some guy would be willing to loose his life for his country because he has strong beliefs while the next guy would never put his life that he was given at risk for a country. Its a very subjective question.
