RIU knowledge required

Hi everyone I am doing 250w hps grow. I have 5 aurora indicas under one of the 250s and 5 ak48s under another 250. They are in a 3ft by 2ft area and each level is 4ft high. They have all been vegging for just over a month, does anyone think it is s good time to start flowering. Oh yeah they're about 10inches on average. Cheers peeps

some strains stretch alot during the first week or more of flowering but i dont know much about those strains, i wouldnt let them get too big, i have 4foot of space and i flower at about 9 inches, while trimming the bottom third of the plant in the 2nd week of flowering to get a nice lollipop(id recomend this for a 250 as the light doesnt wont hit the lower branches especially if theyre fighting for space) i also have heat issues so i cant have tall plants.

sounds like your good to start flowering whenever, wouldnt leave it too long

totally agree you should induce flowering right away if you only have a 4' space, lights can only be like 12-18" away from you plants so really you only have 3' growing space. The plants will double sometimes triple in flowering stage. Also instead of lollipopping the plant why dont you put couple 2700k CFLs in there for side lighting.

space needed dictates when I go into 12/12. I veged my new girl for 2 months and it eas 14" going into 12/12. 5 weeks later it is 3.5'. thats almost 3x

Nice one guys thanks for the advice I think I will induce flowering after next lights out. I've read somewhere that it is a good idea to leave the lights off for 24-36hrs before switching back on fot the 12/12 to induce flowering. Do any of you lot do this aswell, what's your oppinions. I'm a grow virgin. Thanks again.

the lights off helps root growth to help feed the plants in flowering
