Cooking times amongst the cannabutter chefs seems to vary quite a bit from those who swear by a 3 hour low heat simmer to those that favor the 12 hour low 'n steady. I have tried both the 3 hour and the 12 hour +1/2 oz recipe in my crockpot (easiest way) however I cannot report accurate results as to which way is best b/c I used a lower quality herb this round whereas my last 2 batches were some regs of a much higher quality.
So far I'll say that my 12 hour batch was more potent but then again, I did eat 3 of my 8 cookies at one time : ) so take my analysis with a grain of salt. The concern we all have is that if we over-cook it we will lose precious THC. On the other hand we are all worried that if we don't cook it long enough, we didn't get all the bang for our buck that we could have.
By the way, the buzz from eating canna-butter is soooo much better than smoking. 2 cookies kept me straight all day and I noticed I lost my desire to drink beer also...cool side effect I think
Anyhow, how long do YOU cook your cannabutter? This time, I used margarine by the way...NOT recommended as it doesn't solidify the way pure butter does. It stays kinda runny like coagulated snot.
