RIU what happened

to me its simple i search i don't find i ask i dont mind helping cause that only way you learn if some one didnt originally ask a question to be answered you wouldn't of read it to say go read or go search thanks for the advice but its worth the same as any one that says it nothing! if you can help help if your gana say search save everyone the time and space and making the forums longer then it has to be i read a forum 9 pages long what did i learn at the end not even a ML of info it was just a wast of space time and forum space its simple help if u can, shut the fuck up if you have nothing to say THE END

Why tho therious?

If forums get you bent out of shape, you shouldn't participate. People are people, and there are ample children on all of these sites. If you can't learn to ignore negativity, you need to stay away from it to be happier in your own life.

i am very happy in life specially in CALI ...thnx for the advice but idc its just annoying for the newbies ive been there before but now im far along enough to know at least the basics and able to take care of my own with out asking more then maybe a question its just stupid that people wont help others, isnt that the point why where all here? or is it to show off talk down to people and tell em how everything there doing is wrong and they should completely change there grow and go read. i do think reading is the best way to learn but whats the point if you cant ask to clear shit up. its not about ignoring negativity, it will never change if we ignore.... lets just ignore the heat stress, and nute burns and bla bla itll all go way as long as were all positive right?
 
Who are you to say that none here is a professional at this? let alone that they as such are a professional if they own a seed company? Seems like you're making ignorant assumptions :D

And noone's gona become a professional if they're spoonfed every answer without having to actually learn for themselves, i tend to tell people to do a google search because it's in their best interest, or alternatively they can jut be lazy not care about truly learning and just get given the answer :) I'll pint someone in the right direction under the knowledge that they can easily then find out the next answer for themselves through a little reading, not for them to come back and ask to be told the next step without having to put any effort in. Giving advice goes hand in hand with taking advice, i'm not gonna helpo you if you have no intention of helping yourself :)
 
true looking through endless pages to find an answer is a pain in the ass. I like to post something and get input asap and not have to fish through posts

no point in trying talk to u people did i come after any one credibly did i say n e one is not professional u guys need chill fuck out and smoke something all i said is you can be help full or say go read i dont think you should spoon feed but if some one searches for days on and there problem is getting worst there not gana wana hear go read or google it help em like you would wana be helped when u were in that stage of your growing life

And do you know how many people come on and make threads saying "i've searched everywhere to no avail so i'll ask here" when in fact they've done nothing of the sort and are just too lazy to do any work themselves.

If someone posts a simple question as such...

"Hey guys, i've been reading for days and I can't seem to find a definative answer. My problem is ___________________________________. So far I've read from some people that __________________, but others say _____________________...Can you point me in the right direction?"

I guess I'd be a litte more sympathetic than...

"Hey, I've been growing for X amount of time, and my problem is _________________...What do I do?"

 
I believe the more you have to work with the better and more in depth help you will get. So many people use fox farms, roots, Advanced, GH, Botanicare on & on.. that is simple to find FAQ on the topic. If you come before hand to ask questions and gain info regarding a grow you are much better off, once someone begins having issues & posting pix expecting a sure diagnosis, it is really guesswork. & often creates more issues.

The majority of questions I see go ignored are usually something someone cannot truly provide assistance. Unless you want to honestly ask the OP what their budget is. Nothing wrong with it, but many times people begin growing the plant before figuring out how to keep it alive. & that is simply veg state which I think is hard to kill a plant while vegging if using decent soil.


Should make a sticky. -> Step to a successful harvest of @ least 2oz. (since ppl always wanna know what they will yield)

1st Step to Having a Successful Grow Indoors :: Have $300 to spend.
2nd Step, go on RIU and ask how to spend it.

I actually agreed with the general tone of the OP, I mean even when I think people are retarded I just move along. If I have a second to answer a question, even if its a simple often repeated one I'll do it, or just skip it.

I do however often see the same question coming up over and over like 1-2 threads apart in a topic. I just assume some people are just dumb when it comes to computers and stuff and try to be as helpful as possible. I do see horribly dumb questions go unanswered and eventually fall into the abyss of past page 2 in history, which is where they should go. I know alot of people come here without English being their primary language. And try to keep that in mind as well.

I guess in sum, I think just because someone is a moron, I feel like it's not really helpful to anyone bump the thread pointing it out.
 
I can deal with morons, i can' deal with lazy bitches. I see a hell of a lot of blatantly lazy people who can't be bothered to do any research than people who are genuinely confused etc.
 
i think there are a few major problems that have dragged the riu community down, the biggest being the total lack of respect for the seasoned growers, i think there should be a teachers section that should be strictly for teaching (trolls get banned instantly). i know we have the newbie section but there are just to many trolls that ruin it for new growers and the fact that the trolls are left to get on with it makes it hard for anyone looking for reassurance. also the search function on the site is pretty crap at the best of times meaning that when you search for a Q that's already been asked 1000 times you get very little info if any.
when i joined up a couple of years ago i was lucky enough to benefit from a few of the older members advice and threads i.e uncle ben, brick top and a few others, i read the threads they created and also read all the links they put up that were based on actual research and facts and that aided me to no end and answered all the Qs i had at the time, unfortunately for new growers coming to the site alot of the older more experienced members have left due to the trolling and sheer bullshit that was thrown at them repeatedly by inexperienced growers and trolls, which left a gap that's hard to fill and unfortunately in a lot of cases now bad info is passed off as facts when they are anything but.
just my opinion but i believe riu has taken a bit of a nose dive and is now more for fucking about on rather than learning and sharing knowledge, don't get me wrong there is still some great info here but not like there was, the stickys have been changed and the new ones have replaced them that were started by new inexperienced growers that do a good job at adding info but i don't think it's the same as reading from someone that's been doing it for years and doesn't just know how to do it but more importantly why it should be done.
the trolls aren't kept in check
some of the new mods are shocking and do a terrible job
informative threads get derailed and the info is lost when the threads get locked, i think over all some upper management decisions have been poor and the site has suffered as a direct result. the sad part is until these things are changed and dealt with the good, experienced and helpful will just keep leaving, leaving the trolls and bullshit to keep flowing.........troll it up??? i think so
 
Oh, and the joke that has become the moderating team really isn't helping either. One minute a mod openly braking rules, the next minute one is making up rules on the spot, and the next minute i'm looking at a picture of a dead man with his decapitated genitals stuffed in his mouth without anything being done about it.
