Ahh. My grow is like that I started out on a harvesting every 2 weeks, and how Im trying to get out and its taking forever. Im ready for it to be over, but I guess my plants in veg can always use more time.....
Things are startin to look pretty.. maybe cuz its the holidays..
I'm gonna have so many goodie bags to give away for xmas, its gonna be nice.
yea man that's a lot of bud! and this is definitely one of my favorite grows to watch
I am experimenting with this technique with my vegging girls now. Can you share your findings on where to bend. a couple of mine straighten back up in a few hours and others stay sideways witht he top growing back up toward the light. I am bending right above the 4th node. I am trying to figure out the trick. It took me a couple plants to really get a feel where to do the bending/pinching, and in return ill sacrafice some good weight. But atleast I now know for future strains I plan on supercropping with.
Hey dude. I came to to find that you actually want to pinch them on the "strong" part, not the soft spot.I am experimenting with this technique with my vegging girls now. damn son. late night huh?Hey dude. I came to to find that you actually want to pinch them on the "strong" part, not the soft spot.
Usually, near the new growth, there will be a part of the stem that will be soft and bendy, then shortly below that the stem will be nice and strong. It feels as if you were to bend the strong part, it would snap, but i got the opposite effect. When I would bend the stiff branches, they would "fold&crease" like a cardboard box, rather then snap like a piece of spaghetti being bent to its max.
After that, you would notice a big fat knot like wunderblunder mentioned. It heals rather quickly and sure does wonders for the new growth.
Hope this was helpful, if not just ask again! Its 4:11 and im gonna smoke a bowl of purple bubba and pass the F out.
Goodnight!
Good lookin out d00d.damn son. late night huh?
I wouldnt know first hand, but on GenFranco's Suppercropping thread, he mentions that the branches or whole plant that he supercrops ends up yielding more than the plants he doesnt supercrop. he explained and compared it well saying when you supercrop a plant, it's similar to building muscle for a human and then in turn yielding more.
thought that was a good little tid bit to know for everyone who wants to supercrop
Hey man. Supercropping is where you bend the stem in half and pinch it. Its like breaking your arm and it grows back twice as strong.hmm supercropping is when u straight cut off the top right and it grows bak? ive heard of the pinching method which im assumign doesnt shock the plant as much as a FIM would? wat would u recommend with a scrog grow then? cuz would doin a FIM defeat the purpose if ure already planning on weaving the branches thru the trellis netting? jw for my own sake lol maybe itll help others as well
Thanks for the explanation. I have been bending mine down a little farther on the stem than it sounds like you are. Next time I will move up alittle toward the top. It's crazy how some will pop right back up even after that "cardboard like bend". I had to tie a couple to keep them over and some stayed over on there own. I am planning on doing this multiple times over the next 4-5 weeks. How many times did you pinch and bend yours?Hey dude. I hear ya, I do the same thing..when a couple are looking taller than the rest I break them down.I did mine just randomly at bordem. lol. Whenever I saw one getting to tall compared to the others I broke that bitch.
waiting until a plant gets tall enough to tie down ACROSS the TOP of the planter is a good way to ensure all the side branching is the same height.
Its pretty much guess & check. Once something gets to tall, tie or break it back down...it'll catch up.
Heres some pictures from tonight. Today is day 55, I'm gonna try to let them all go another 11 days, except for the one pictured, im gonna take down in about 5.
EDIT: Its not letting me upload photos.
hate to tell ya B but that sounds just like a caterpillar found his way inside and started munching. the bud gets discolored, super dry and flakey when they work their way in. I know it sounds unlikely that a caterpillar would make its way inside, but I've had one completely take a branch and eat about 3 inches down the branch from an indoor mother. just check all your buds closely and see if you can get him before he wrecks more havok and takes some nice colas with himOk, soo wtf?? Today I was inspecting my plants, doing a little pre-harvest trimming...
I came across a nug that felt dry, just a part of one big nug. So I snapped it off to inspect, I didnt notice anything wrong except for the fact that it seemed to be very dry for still being on the plant.
anyways, I checked it out further and nothing seems to be wrong. There is no rot, but where the stem "snapped" off (not bent, mind you) there is a dot of brown on what looks like the inside of the stem. Just the open wound....
So.. I shredded it up a little and put it in my bong to see if it was as dry as I was imagining...
Sure enough, that fucker lit right up and snapped through. I took the snap right before I started writing this and well lets just say im fucked up!
