RO water, this stuff is the shit!

Wow, i cant believe i just started using this stuff.

Some of my plants were browning on the tips so i suspected the water. Ive always used municipal tap water, which means I always let it sit out for a couple days, then spend another 3 days adjusting the ph down to normal.

60 cents a Gallon and 6.0 PH right out of the jug, no chlorine, no flouride. Im hooked.

Just fyi, reverse osmosis strips all of the nutrients out of the water, you might want to supplement your feedings with a micronutrient mix every now and then.

Um yeah sounds like you've got it covered lol, and damn 60 cents a gallon is a bit pricey, it's 35-45 cents a gallon around here.

If your using RO, it's good from time to time to add a little epsom salt or calmag. They kinda strip out the minerals when they do thier RO thing. A good RO unit for your house is only a couple of hundred and it's not hard to go through 20 gallons a week.

Hey guys i just got a ro fillter that came from a salt water fish tank. it has new filters on it that gets 6.8ph out of it. cost FREE.

RO water is indeed awesome to work with. It makes the job of determining what the plants are truly feeding on a whole lot simpler. The problem I have with many of the RO systems out there is that some of them have runoff ratios of 6 to 1. That means, for every gallon of RO water you get, 6 is going down the drain. :( I bought a Tall Boy from Hydrologic, it has NO runoff, and it takes out the chlorine, flouride, and sediment, but does not affect the PPMs all that much. When you're using a 70 and 40 gallon res, I don't feel good about wasting and PAYING for that much water. Besides, Cali's supposedly in a drought.

what's the diff between distilled and ro water? thnx

Look into buying a home RO filter. If you are drinking it and can afford it buy a system that alkalizes the water as well. Or go to a water fill up station and get RO water for 25 cents a gallon.
