Rock 'n wool newbie

Hi growers!

I'm really excited about my grow project but just cant seem to get all the pieces together. I'm planing an ebb and flow type grow and still having some problems with the grow medium. In my country nobody sells hydrophonic suplies - none what so ever. So I'm building my own from scratch. That leads me to my complete newbie question - can I use regular rockwool used for insulation instead of the lets say Grodan rockwool? Are they any different in any matter? Except of course for the pre-cut sizes and pre-drilled holes? C

They are pretty much the same so you should be ok to use it.

To be sure check the composition of your insulation rockwool against a hydroponic version just to make sure you aren't going to get anything leaching out that normally wouldn't.

It appears to be exactly the same. This company sells both home insulation rockwool and products for growing made from the same stuff just cut to shape.
