so i took cuttlings last week and now the healthy cuttlings have started to grow their own roots out of their rocksoil cubes. The roots aren't long, they come out maybe 1/2-1cm from the cube. Is it time to remove from dome and transplant into soil? with the assumption that I place the plant and the cube into soil.

Assuming you have the height, cutting should have enough, then it would be time mate
. Just plant into soil, cover the top of your cube with your medium also (avoids medium-bound molds). Make sure to water the medium all the way until you see drainage, and sit back and enjoy the growth

I'm surprised I actually managed to get a clone to root, with just water.
Just seen a Propagation kit with root gels and what not, that should give me some better results.

Haha, believe me, lots of people just use plain water for cloning. I`ve read a lot of evidence that suggests the medium requires a mild solution to thrive once roots establish themselves. But everyone has their method(s) too right? Whatever works for your requirements

Yeah I got some wilters but the rest grew thick strong roots before 7 day line. My best success rate was because I wrapped paper around the rootcubes so it wouldn't crack open when it dried up, this I think gave me the most improvement. Also gotta keep the cubes moist, so I would keep water in the tray so the roots would reach down towards. Simple process for sure, thanks for all the help.

No worries mate, glad to be of some assistance. I ditched Rockwool and the like for these exact reasons, too finicky. I use exclusively peat pellets now, seed or cuttings, with 100% every time. I grow more than I need for cuts in case of fails ... just never happens . Happy growing mate

The Pellets ... not sure of exact size, maybe inch and a half thick, expand to about 3 inches deep. Once I tried them I never looked back. Once germinated I have a 90% of seeds that have 2-4 inch sprouts in 48 hours, begging for light **EDIT - The other 10% I get the next day generally **. Go a rich green with the first 36 hours of initial light. PM if you need more, would load some pics of the pellets I use ... nothing special
