When should i plant my newly sprouted seedlings into the hydroton? right now i have them under my light waiting to see some roots before i plant them into their new medium. wondering if there's an certain timing when i should place them in there of if i couldve just started them off in the hydroton before they even broke through the rockwool. Thanks!

Haiz John. I germinated my seeds then transferred them into rockwool (root down ofc) when they had taproots 1/2" long. Some peepz have good results with just letting the plant grow in the hydroton, but you'd need to secure it accordingly to make sure it doesnt fall over ;)

yeah man dont wait for the roots to show, put the bitches in the hydroton. Either way they are going to have to end up their, and might as well stick em in so the roots can grow around the hydroton rocks and find their way down, instead of smashing an exposed root when transferring. :]

Whats your tote size?

ok I am sure my way is not traditional...
I started in peat pellets, the ones that expand when you wet them.
Dropped 6 seeds right in. All six sprouted. once their roots broke the mesh back I cut off the bag and dropped that into 4 inch rockwool cubes.
Once the roots broke through that into a large bed of hydroton they went.
Into week 9 of flowering and they are looking good :D

lmfao I love how before all that you hadda add "Ok I am sure my way is not traditional" haha

I heard of those peat pellets, good job on the 100% success rate, I stick the bitches in a jar of water to germinate with like maybe a drop of rooting hormone.
but my success rate was ok but it has its bad days, I see a lot of good reviews off the paper towel method though!
you straight up stick the seeds into fuckin peat pellets and they germinate? what if some sink to the bottom or some shit, have you ever lost one?

than you swap to the rockwool (good job)

rockwool to hydroton is a legit thing to do.

I germinate the bitch and stick into the rockwool and put half the rockwool in a dish so it stays hydrated under a basic floro and it comes up good :] than I stick it under an hps and the bitch grows :] I needa get my MH bulb though :\

I gotta agree with FriendlyGuy, I germ in paper towel then into rockwool starter cubes that go right into my setup with hydroton.

bro I was swapping res tanks cuz my res allowed light, than it smelled like wet fuckin dog. so I originally scrubbed the tank but not the lid, same happened (or it was just smell of lid.) so I swapped to a bigger res and the fuckin basket fell through the hole in the lid, so I got to see my new roots on one good plant, it looked thick. and it was all coming from the center going down, around 2 inches long. (Wierd cuz my same aged plants in soil had roots that were COVERED all over the cup.
