Rockwool VS. Sponges

Yea, thats what a few people use (rockwool cubes), I know for a fact thats what aerogrower76 uses. You just put the rockwool into the grow net.

not really sure if theres any benefit to either of them. its just a grow medium.

no roccwool man, the drip system keeps the medium wet, roccwool absorbs the water too much for the AG drip system, even in DWC you put the roccwool on top of the hydroton pellets, so the bubbles cant get to it

How could a sponge be less absorbant than a rockwool cube. The rockwool is not as dense as an AG sponge.

that has nothing to do with it, the material of roccwool is like 98% absorbent or somthing, but im not pulling this shit out of my ass :mrgreen:

What is the absorbancy percentage of the sponge ?

sicc is right. rockwool is no good in the ag. you might get away with it if the water pump is turned off and you've got some air stones. no way will it work if the pump is on. it just retains to much water. if you manage to get roots, chances are you will get stem rot.
