Rocky Mountain High Grow Journal (CFL's exclusively)

Don't know how I forgot the 'snap' test but I did. I just checked and they are still 'folding' over rather than snapping. Not quite dry yet. Last plant I placed an oscillating fan under, not on, and they dried in 2.5 days. I'm hoping without the fan it will take closer to a week.

Thanks guys, my mind is at ease.

I know i could read back and find it but do you think that you could explain this turkey baster method of watering?

Get a turkey baster and give the plant 'sips' of water not 'gulps'.

The idea is to have the moisture in the upper portion of the soil and not at the bottom. If you have a 'snake' root, then, IMHO, you have given the plant too much water. Nutes are absorbed by the little root hairs and not the big thick main tap root.

I prefer clay pots _ because they wick away the mineral and salt build ups, but there are a lot of benefits of using plastic.
You can grow a 4 foot plant in a 7" pot, using CFL's, no problems:hump:

So i water like everyday instead of every 3 or 4? And what do you mean by snake root?

Yeah, water everyday, very lightly. On my 2 gallon pots I give them 4-6 turkey basters full, it holds 1.5 ounces, each day. that gives them about 6-8 ounces of water everyday rather than 4-5 cups every 4-5 days.

On my seedlings, one per day, veggy plants in 1 gals 2-3 each day.

For me it works very well as I can get my 'every other watering' feeding schedule intact (fox farm), since I'm watering everyday, they get nutes every other day rather than every 8-10 days.

The snake at the bottom is when the tap root shoots to the bottom of the pot and then 'swirls' around the bottom making a 'snake' if you will. Ideally you want the roots to utilize as much of the soil as possible rather than waiting at the bottom of the pot for the water to show up. Make them search and u turn back to the top filling in the soil on the way.

Good luck

I've decided to go ahead and wrap up this journal.

The second plant I harvested gave me right at 15 grams, very dry, maybe too dry.

I will continue to update the yields in the other journal, Satori Seed Grow by RMH.
