Guess it's ok to say public now...Not to long ago I got a ransomware attack from here. After 3 reformat's (I kept getting it when I returned) and a cpl of chats with kasperski labs.....I tracked it down to be in the Adobe Flash Player software they run the banner adds and such. I found that Flash Player is the easiest way to deliver or open doors for attacks.......I tried to tell the Admin's about the problem.....Got answers back that my profile was not hacked and they couldn't find any problems.....I told them they had a server issue........
BTW it was a Russian ransom ware!
I wouldn't doubt that it got opened in the server. They are DDos attacks.......You can find the pathways it took to get into the Dos through windows.....The only way I could clear it was a reformat. Kasperski has a copy of it and is working on a repair file for the particular one. Ransomware's are the biggest pain,,,very hard to remove, if it can at all.

I now run my browser with all video player (Flash Player) turned off. I also turned off banner adds, and disallowed "return" cookies. That's how I could keep post here for the last month or so.

almost all major websites suffer ddos at some point, it wont be the first and definitely wont be the last.
it is the result of being a big website
sony, valve, facebook they have all been subjects to such attacks.

i do not know why some words are banned when i do ill let you know i can only speculate which im keeping to myself at the moment
pictures are always last to be restored as they take the most time, and effort to restore due to their sizes.

Personally I thought I got banned from here or something.. then i check isitdown website and it said server was down.

Get the excellent image disc cloning software Macrium reflect free and reinstall an image every week, it only takes about 7 mins to reinstall.

This site has gone downhill over the years. I don't use it that much anymore except at work when I'm bored outta my mind. Except for one thing I should mention; it looks like the Area 51 Fanboi Club has disbanded. That's a plus. Now maybe you can compliment a light other than Area 51 without the fanboi's coming out in droves.

Whatever happened to Area 51 anyway? I heard the owner took off with people's money. Glad I always thought he was a dick. Just wasn't willing to suck it to be a fanboy club member.
