does anyone else not like the new rollitup,

i cant see my last 5 posts anymore or my last 5 threads which i thought was a very good feature.
think alot of ppl would like to see this feature back.

i realize this is not generally about growing but i wanted this somewhere where a mod will see it or a majority of the surfers

the only other option to see wat ppl are reponding to ur posts is to subscribe to every thread which isnt really practical.

that just means no-one has posted anything. it will still pop up in your subscribed folder. it the 5 most recent threads, and posts that aren't there. i would like them back as well.

you must have stormed in and offered your advice in a manner that some didnt like. or you just made no sense. everyone here is pretty nice an as far as i can tell if you dont just go around bitchin or screamin how your right their wring etc then your good

i agree that too many threads boil down to shit talking. but i just unsubscribe whenever people act like dicks, so that i don't have to listen to them. there are also tons of cool people on here though, with tons of info to share. no need to give up on the forum.

there's an exploit in the code, someone can perform what is known as 'the redirection hack' thats why a hell lot of vBulletin forums stopped using the mod

I think this is how they did it...


Basically in the title of the thread they post, any thread any where on rollitup in the title they can put redirect code so when it appears in last 5 posts it will perform the redirect code and send you to their own site

taking the last 5 post thing away is absolutly retarded and i hate those sticky threads up top like anyone wants to see the same couple of noob questions every time they look at the forum. and to have the top of the new shit start in the middle of the page for that is stupid you should be able to minus it.

LOL cmon guys you realise your complaining about something you pay nothing for? its not free to hoast a site , and it appears that the last 5 thing was removed because there was a code (and for you people that are computer illiterate: a 'hack') that could redirect you to another website outside of RIU. so they could redirect you to a site containing a virus , backdoor , keylogger. they basically did it to help keep us safe. and everyone cries about how they messed everything up , and hey while your at it why dont you make the website better (one user said) ! just saying chill out.smoke a :joint: and be happy someone is paying for us to all talk here and learn more.
