romantic movie stalking

Is it just me or do movies often make stalking seem like romantic behavior?

Someone gets dumped for instance and then goes about hanging out across the street watching the girls house. Or meets someone and follows them home...

Just creepy get the cops called on you kinda crap, but ooooh that's so romantic, as long as no one does it in real life....

that's funny. now that you mention it i agree. in the movies it's "aw, isn't that sweet? look how much he loves her"

in real life it's a trip to see a judge, a restraining order, and court ordered psych evaluations. plus maybe some missing teeth from the husband she forgot to mention.

the real irony here is those movies are usually geared toward WOMEN :wall:

Yeah I was just watching an old movie with Kevin Costner where he's a baseball pitcher... anyway the women he loves dumps him tells him she won't go to watch him play the next day etc etc. so next thing they show is him out in the rain watching her house, and shows her new man look out the window and then they both come to the window.. then instead of the dude coming out to tell him to get lost they cut to the next day and him pitching a perfect game.

It happens all the time in movies, I always laugh. If people did that stuff in real life the women would call him creepy, stalker, crazy, scary... anything but romantic, or sweet.

Not to get into it too deep, but it does seem like it sends the wrong message to boys growing up, hopefully moms and dads out there watching movies with their kids tell their sons "hey, don't you be hanging outside girls houses like that, that's not cool, and might get you tossed in jail".

in the movies you see the longing heartbroken face along with the sad music.

in real life its a car, sitting there in the rain, with a dark shape in it that seems to be staring at your house.

What?

You've never ran up to airport security and gave them a heartfelt, "THE LOVE OF MY LIFE IS LEAVING FOR PARIS IN...." monologue?

Shit, how else do you think I travel? PAY for my ticket?

Yeah I did it once to, and it was kinda stalkerish... I guess that's why they show it in movies a lot, it probably happens a lot, and it is in the broken hearted long face way you see in movies. But I'm sure if you were caught the girl would tell everyone you were stalking her and or crazy.. and it would be tough to paint it out like, "no no it was like the movie say anything except i didn't have a boom box over my head, and I was in my car kinda hiding from view, and yeah.... ok it was creepy"

Every step you take... I'll be watching you...

I love that song. Lol, it's not that old X3

Have you heard the mashup with Chasing Cars? It's great. And obviously the Puff Daddy and Faith Evans thing.
