humidity helps the stomata to function at their best.. keeps the plant overall healthier and keeps you from having scatchy, thin, and papery leaves. Bad leaves = bad photosynthesis = bad buds. Your humidity shouldn't be that low unless you live somewhere really dry. In that case, I would buy a humidifier, which can also help lower your temp even if it's only a slight 0.5 degree F. It may be your hygrometer.. But easiest thing to do? Save some bottles, fill it with tap water, freeze it, stick it in a cooler or wrap them in tin foil. They'll condensate and this water will evaporate. Raised my humidity 5 percet with two 2 liters.

Or maybe I was lucky! Hell, if it works.. haha

iv just put a fan cooled 400 wat light in and its took the temp down to 75-78! the humidity has gone up to 27 but im gonna get a humidifier on monday and get the humidity up to about 50- 60%! thanks for the advice amsterhamster!! my growth is always slow and my leaves are always papery and dry, will humidity bring the dark green shine to my leaves??? and how long would it take after the humidifier has been put in the room!!!

It will if you're treating your girls right. Lack of color and luster can also be a nutrient deficiency problem, but just take it one step at a time :) Get the humidity to a better level (40% is even ok, if that's all your humidifier can do) then see if it makes a difference through a grow.

As far as timelapse.. it depends on how you handle it. A cool mist humidifier will slightly lower your heat and will increase your humidity by 5-10% USUALLY. Sometimes the effect is less, sometimes it's more. My ideal setup? A cheap cool air humidifier pointed directly into an intake fan/duct. The fan helps suck ALL of the available moisture into your grow area in a more concentrated supply, rather than letting it disperse easily. I actually find this method to work better than even having the humidifier IN my room.

But, that's just my take. Your grow room is yours, if you find a better solution, awesome :)

Oh also, with my "humidifier behind a fan" idea, it raised my humidity from 27 to 47. That's a 20% jump. Just a thought.
