put layer of sand over soil. they do not like it. Then get load of sticky fly trap tape and put it every where. Worked well for me but a bit messy

ok, so if it is root aphids, then the bt products will not work. i used evergreen as a root dunk and also as a spray when i got them. it worked very well for me. there's a bunch of other pyrethrin concentrates @ that should work as well. i thnk southern ag makes a cheaper one. it would be worth checking to see if any of your local hydro shops sell samples.

PEACE MY FREIND... one of the best i.e. not the best solution is to go and get some neem oil its very inexpensive ($10) for a good amount and if you have some extra coins get a good emulsifier ( to help the neem bind with the water) you can use some really basic dish soap at a few drops per gallon with about 5ml of neem oil... i prefer organic dish soap this will help with the whole micro community in the soil
