From what I understand there is no cannabiniods in the roots. There are other medicinal properties but no thc or CBD, that's only contained in the trichrome heads. However the roots have been used as a medicine in ancient times, would like to see some modern research in its uses.

I thought in Canada the roots are still considered cannabis when, say they weight it as it contains cannabenoids?

Stalks, roots and non viable seeds are exempt in the cdsa. Which is funny because in order to get roots, stalks and seeds you need to grow the illegal cannabis. You can't have one without the other, it's a package deal.

Just my 2 cents, but if you are thinking of playing with roots, grow in DWC buckets, then you can harvest a nice clean massive root ball with no debris.
