New to DWC. Plants are in their 3rd week. Nutrients are Flora flex. Water change yesterday. Roots were white before change. Checked them this morning and now this color change. Don't know why this happened.
I'm using revitalizeI don't really know much about the type of system you are running but I am guessing you need some pool shock or h2o2 or something along those lines
Most people run a sterile system without a water chiller that can keep temperature below 20C/68F. You may use bacillus amyloliquefaciens extract but may run into problem with higher water temps, it's often more effective at lower concentrations. I'm not sure if this is root rot since bacillus amyloliquefaciens is very dark and stain roots?I'm using revitalize
I don't know what those other things are but thanks for the info
I'm not exactly sure about the nutes you run(I've run gh flora series), but the flora micro i used to use, would stain the roots to light brown.New to DWC. Plants are in their 3rd week. This stuff?Def looks like rot, the color and the clumping structure. I struggled with aero last year when I first moved into this house. Even with crazy amounts of bleach, my roots would rot in a couple of days. I decided to go the benny route, and I found two amazing products that have worked wonders for me, and several others here. They are designed for ponds and aquariums, but are amazingly effective in hydro. Plus, they are super cheap. They are both from a company called API. The first is Tap Water Conditioner that neutralizes chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metals. The other is Ecofix, which is a super concentrated liquid blend of beneficial bacteria. I only add a small amount twice per week. I've tried hydroguard, Great White, and SA's GFF all with some success. But the Ecofix is a game changer. My rez temps get into the mid 80s, but all my roots stay a pristine white. You can find these items on amazon.

CheersThat's the stuff, and it comes in smaller sizes. A gallon will last me at least a couple of years. Their Tap Water Conditioner is great for creating the environment for the bennies to thrive, much like RO water but without the hassle.
