Root tangle

I have a hydro setup with 3" netpots close together ....my first grow and just switched to flower 5 days ago and the roots are interwoven in the res ..... I started from seeds so I know I'm gona have ta pull some male plants when they show signs of sex .... is it best to cut the roots of the male plant at the net pot and try to pick out what roots I can and just leave the male roots that I can"t release in the res

never had to do that first hand, but i believe if you were to cut the main stalk of the male plant(s), and leave it for a week or so to let them die (still tangled up),and then use Hygrozyme, or H2O2, it would eat away the dead roots, without having to tear at them to try to de-tangle the male roots from the females

I have been pondering the same question. I left the remaining roots and just added Hydrogen Peroxide to start breaking down those dead roots and eat them away.

Hey Beach Bum I have the same grow box as you do and will be having many of the same problems and inquires as you probabley have we should try and keep in touch on a specific thread so we can ask each other questions is that the short box or the taller one. what do you plan to do as they get taller. I am planning on using a screen to get them to grow wider then flower them.

how far below the bottom of the net pots is your water level?

that sounds like a good idea with the hydrogen peroxide ...... is it regular stuff at the pharmacy or special stuff and how much would I put in a 60quart res ....Puff that sounds like a good idea with the thread ... I have the tall cool cab and I started flowerin around 13" so about X3 should fit fine .... the water level is 2 or 3" down I never measured it because it fills and stops auto .... I've been following the video growin instructions that came with it and so far so good .... at first it was runnin way to hot so I had to add another inline fan to the light tube system and that seemed to bring the temps down when I changed the bulb I found out it is a 600w instead of a 400w which is prob why the overheatin...

the hydroponic/food grade 35% H2O2 solution is the best, but you should dilute some to 3% before you add (cant remember the mL/gallon ratio). I've used to regular 3% stuff from walgreens, it's probably not a good idea, but it didn't kill the plants. I'm sure with continued use thats a different story

Try Grotek H2o2. Its 35% & its 2 1/2 tsp per gallon. Very easy instructions & very effective.

I used Hygrozyme first I put in 70 mls 3 days later 50 mls, 5 days later 50 mls more then 4 days later I changed the res with a pump and got rid of any rotten leftovers ....put 50 mls in the new water.... turn out great
