Jack I think youve done this before, man i think i did create dry pockets in these 3 BGs by letting them dry to much, I cant seem to get the pot as heavy as my others. I used a 50/50 split of perlite/blackgold organic which has perlite in it as well, I water from the top and let so much run off that i bottom feed as well then i make sure there blocked up and never sitting in water. is there any remedy other than increasing my water/feed scedule?
sancho,

What you can do to get those dry pockets to re-wet themselves is to give them a good soak with plain water that has 2 or 3 drops of Ivory Dish Soap / gallon in it. And then let them sit in that run off for an hour or two to make sure everything has a chance to suck up plenty of water. Kind of like watering from the bottom up. The soap will act as a wetting agent. But after that get them blocked back up so they can drain good. Then the trick is to never let them get that dry again.

With 50% perlite in your mix I'm guessing your soil is pretty loose and probably requires more frequent watering than most mixes. I've probably got around 15% perlite and 15% vermiculite in mine. I'm not saying that's better it's just what I'm playing around with this time.

thank you bro! Im going to try it tonight. Do you think dry pockets could cause the downward clawing and the lighter shade of green? Im sure its not overwatering and ive been watering/feeding more but it does not seem to improve.

How long do you veg for in those size pots and what type of yield do you usually get. Never grown in that large of pot, 10 gal is the biggest but I've been thinking of going with 30 gal smart pots.

Thanks for any info you might be willing to share...
When you grow in insane sized pots like I sometimes do, its no longer an issue of the pot that determines the yield but the strain, growing technique and mostly the amount of light you are using.

I work on the principle of a pound per 600w light. Although that is the worst case scenario. It is no different though if you grew in smaller pots but filled up the same area with more pots, in the end its area of green and how many watts that set the bar for bud harvest weight. sea of green and screen of green may yield a little more but the main advantage of those techniques is consistant bud size rather than greater harvests.

If you are someone that grows for personal use then consistant bud size is less of an issue, however if you are someone that moves their bud to pay bills then consistency in size is what you should be aiming for therefore the SCROG or SOG layouts would be the best.

Sancho your plants look fine, just be careful to allow the roots to completely dry out between waterings. Hasty decisions might be the only thing you need to keep an eye on ;)
