.. so, i'll start off by saying i'm not the most techy person around, far from it, but i have been learning some stuff from a few friends who have the patience of an angel ...
my question is, is it worth rooting my droid phone?? what are the chances that i will end up bricking the thing and end up having a $300 paper weight??
not looking for any links or anything, just any thoughts on the idea of a non techy person attempting to root their phone is all..
any and all advice as always is appreciated.. ty.. :)

What does "rooting" mean ?
Is that like unlocking a phone so you can get all the apps and stuff free ?

mmkay i root every single phone i get and run a differ modified OS. First i get better battery life because not as many apps are running threw modified OS. U only root your phone to modify the OS. My battery was getting about a day, now i get almost 3 days with new OS. Before i got download speeds of 11Mbps now i get 16Mbps. phone is alot smoother does not crash. I LOVE IT. what kind of phone do u have. U also dont get all the added software and running processes. Also why to battery life is better because lets say u have a 1ghz cpu if u are not using phone it will downclock it to like 300mhz so u save batter and if u start using your phone it will give u more power as u need it :)

I don't bother rooting phones but I had to root the Kindle Fire. There were just a couple things that had to be modified before it was an acceptable device. =P
