Alright guys I have been growing for a while now and can never seem to get a quality harvest. My buds seems to be airy with very little tricomes. I think my main issue is not enough root mass but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

Also these are the most vibrant green plants you will ever see growing showing no signs of issues other than slow growth and small amounts of roots

Setup.

Veg- Bubba Kush, Plushberry, Lemon OG, Grand Daddy Purps, Purple Dream

T5s lighting Cyco Nutrient Line

Transplant from Aero Cloner into dixie cups after 2 weeks in cloner
Transplant from Dixie cups into 1 gallon pots after 1-2 months (They never get rootbound and root masses are unimpressive)
Transplant from 1 gallon to 5 gallon after 2-3 months (Again terrible root growth)
Veg for another 2 months and then flower.

I KNOW I KNOW Holy $h!t 6 months in VEG!!!

Flower for 8-9 weeks and cry when I harvest

Medium is coco coir
Water PH- 5.8-6.2 Veg 6.0-6.5 Flower
Temp 72-78 Veg and Flower
Humidity 40-50%

I am using cycos recommendation for feeding schedule. I also supplement with Growers Recharge, Photo synthesis Plus and Mammoth P.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

less water. the medium has to dry out and force the roots to go looking for food. I know that my bag of coco says to water a couple times a day. I alternate. feed feed water. and right now my plants are 6-8" tall and the get fed or watered once every 3-4 days or so. if the coco stays wet all the time, the roots have no reason to grow to look for more water.

over feeding, over watering
likely inefficient lighting, air exchange/flow.
that nutrient line was the most difficult to work with for me, but it did perform in the end.
feed lighter, water way less, roots like dryer over wetter every time. a healthy substrate is not always wet.

Maybe a coco soil/ perlite mix.
The roots need plenty of oxygen.
The perlite will create pockets in the soil for air to get trapped.

The only way to get a decent harvest with a T5 fixture is to even out the canopy by either scrog, lst, or supercropping - that way the colas all get the most of the light. Based on your original post, you have at least 5 plants - way too many for that light. I'm sure the above posters are all good growers and there are many ways to be successful, but I disagree with them regarding coco growing. Roots need oxygen for fast growth and the way to achieve that is by adding perlite to your mix - even though coco holds 30% oxygen when saturated, it still requires perlite for the best results. I use a 50/50 coco/perlite mix and feed (not water) everyday to run off from sprout and twice a day when in flower. Coco is not soil - it's drain to waste hydroponics and should never be allowed to dry out and you should never use plain water. Daily feedings renew the nutes and pull in fresh oxygen to the roots - by feeding to run off each time you eliminate any salt build up as well. I usually yield about 8oz. per plant with only a 5 week veg. Good luck.

I would attribute that to the fact that they are bombarded with oxygen the entire time by way of air stone. that said, I am no pro it is just what I have learned over the years gardening. I am new to coco so I am learning.

I mentioned the coco/ perlite mix to introduce more oxygen DERRR.

Dwc works with an air stone and pump like stated above.
The oxygen gets trapped in the roots and also at the top of the bucket around the tap root is a space full of dissolved oxygen.
With the roots having direct access to oxygen this makes the plant thrive with essential nutes to enhance vigorous growth.

You would be better off spending your money on a better light than those overpriced cyco nutrients and those additives you're using. Get a better light. You'll have better results than you are currently having. That cyco's line and those additives are expensive yet you are having dismal results. Lighting and environment are the two most important factors. Fancy nutrient lines alone won't give you good results.

I've grown DWC before so I'm familiar with how it works. The point that I was making to the posters that said "over watering" and "over feeding", was that regular feeding to run off in coco pulls in the much needed fresh oxygen to the root zone. The point is the importance of oxygen to the roots, regardless of your grow method.

What you are doing right is stepping u[p the size of your bags
What you are doing wrong is using root constrictors, or as you call them dixie cups.
Oxygen is the no1 driver of root growth and air pruning allows the best root structure reaching and branching from the centre of the bag to the edge.
To hit all these targets at the same time, buy a series of smart fabric growbags, and repeat what you did before.
For denser nugs you need good light and maybe an indica until you get this shit locked in.
There is no real magic in any of this.

So first off Thanks for all the info!

I think there is some confusion on my lighting. I flower under a 1000 watt hps over a 5x5 scrog. In veg I have 4 8 bae t5 lights that are about 6 inches to a foot above my plants.

I am trying to figure out if it would be better to water to waste everyday or let my plants dry out. Again I am in 100% coco using ro water with cyco nutrients ppms at 1500 for feedings.
