Rough Day Fishing

very nice.. i'm not much on trout fishing as around here its all stocked, and you'd be lucky to catch a eight incher, lol.. i'd much rather catch the bigger bass that we have around here over the smaller trout that we have, but i surely wouldn't mind hooking into one or two of the ones you caught...
and jesu, four lb, that must have been fun.. i love light tackle.. i just got a new pole, and its got a nice light action tip to it, and i caught me first bass on it the other week, and i have to say, its much more fun than using my older stiffer rod..

BBQ tonight for 2 of them.
I like to fight the fish and give them more of a chance. So I use light lines and poles.
Last year my son and I caught a 50 LB Ohno in Hawaii Very good eating!

Yes sir, Wahoo are one of my favorite. I think my biggest accomplishment was a sailfish on 20lb test.

thanks for clarifying that as i was trying to figure out what an ohno or what ever he called it was, lol.. but i do know what a wahoo is.. i would love to do some nice deep sea fishing and catch things like hoo's and sailfish or a nice tuna or two, but god, how i get sick out on a boat..
the biggest thing i've ever caught was a 20 some pound, 40 inch stripper off the jersey coast.. puked the entire time, but i won the pool, so i guess it was worth it in the end, but god, i do ever get sea sick..

misleading thread title.

there is NEVER a rough day fishing.
not unless your out at sea in some rough water and puking the entire time, lol.. to me, that would fall under rough fishing... but then again, so would being out on a super calm day, and puking my guts up..

You caught a 20 lb stripper? What'd you use for bait, a Grant or a Franklin?

And I should tell you that they are not good to eat - strictly catch and release.

Can't wait to go fishin. Waiting on this weatther to clear up. Last year I managed to bring in a 30 pound snapper. He tasted delicious although they are a bitch to clean. My son hooked and almost completely pulled in a huge carp on his little spider man pole lol.
