ya i think you are right about the transitional stages.. i just love walkin and and bein like damn you grew overnight!! my babies i love you!! haha

but anyways ima go get a dehumidifier today from home de pot cuz its stayin around 50-65 RH in there and i already saw a few spots of powdery mildew.. so im a get that knocked out real quick like and pick up some more cal mag..

man i swear growin in soil is so much harder than dirt LOL all my hydro look amazing and my dirty girls are all yellowing and N deficient and shit haha, when i feed em tonight im gonna give em about 30 percent more and see if that helps em out

Hey Flo I read the whole thread and enjoyed every second of it, your system is great. Your doing a great job making every lumen as efficient as you can! 1 question, do you think if you made your system smaller and used 2 of the (vertical parallel) 600s you would gain extra gpw, just ask because the light being emitted from the 4 600s to the centre of your room isnt hitting any foliage, i know this would mean building another system so you would have 2400w. But what do you think? Then againyou can only work with a 10 x 10 so that might not be practical, but you could tighten it up, put 3 vertically aligned 1ks, blast it with CO2 and work your magic, id love to see that!! Also i would love to see power plant run in your setup, that would be sick! This thread and other vertical setups have kept me up at night LOL! I'll defo be building 1 in a month! Thanks a bunch for all the details, ill be following closely.

Hey FLoJo.

I remember in Northern Farmer's thread he said that he turned his plants once a week to get even growth and avoid excessive leaning. His exact words were

I tell anyone who plans to try this on a hydro set up to make sure they are able to turn their plants once a week in their system or else you have week sided plants and serious leaners.
Have you found this to be a problem with your setup?

yes you would definitely gain by adding opposing rows in the center.. more plants with the same average amount of light in a smaller space will always equal a higher yield. I would have done something like that but the engineering with the space i have available is just not practical.. i only have about 3 feet on one side, and one foot on the other sides of spare room, so i pretty much maxed out my space

no i am not going to add co2 until i have experimented enough to have the perfect setup dialed in then i will supp with co2

a hydroponics man told me unless your really doing alot of plants with co2 you would be really wasting your time.because cost and and shit for 10 to 20% more, and if your venting well you have to set them ono and off so your co2 doesnt jus suk out the vent costing alot for refills once your regulator is set.i get big buds without it. i guess i try to make it simple as possible without turning it into a million different nutes and a burden , your buds look good i wouldnt fuk with it,lol.

ya they def. fat and frosty.. when i get my own house or find a nice chill space i want to stay at for a few years i will build a sealed up room with all the fancy controllers and shit.. but until then i feel like i wont get that much more and dont wanna be lugging 20lb co2 tanks in my apartment every other week LOL but once i find my system im gonna keep and get it all dialed in then i will probably get a co2 generator and burn it uuuup

You renting your place?

Yeah Im working on a mortgage now, should have it in the next 5 months. I wanna get a 2 bedroom condo and just go NUTS....lol

Im gonna turn one bedroom into a veg room/ experiment lab

And the master bedroom into a massive flowering room, I want 4 1k lights on rails. :weed:

I think it would be pretty damn awesome, best part mortgage isnt in my name....ahhahahh

Theres something about condo grows that has always intrigued me.

First off If they are done right, you have way less chance of being robbed or getting busted IMO.

And no one expects a crazy grow in a condo, especially if theres never any odor issues.

It also makes it a LOT harder for cops to investigate. When your growing in a house, if someone smells weed one day its either you, or your neighbors...not hard to find.

In a condo they would need search warrants for at least 10-15 suites.....if not one for every suite in the building, by the time they get their warrant you clear out.

ya true but the only thing about a condo is you cant push as many lights as in a house

Well that all depends on where you live. Around 5k of lights, prolly 7k total with everything in a condo in prolly the max power you would want to use

As long as you pay your power on time, and set it up to avoid spikes.

My plan is 2 1klights on 6ft rails, have 2 of these covering an 8x8 patch. Set it up on flip floppers so I will be running 2k for 24hours without ever having spikes, instead of 4k 12 hours a day.

Little things like this make a huge difference. They dont care how much power you use when your paying for it. Then you can switch to gas range and water heater.

I know people with 50" Tvs and stereos and entertainment systems and computers that run WAY WAY WAY more wattage then Im ever gonna use to grow herb, and they never have an issue, just gotta pay on time.

yea if you cover everything your fine... i hate having no indoor space its more of an art than outdoor i mean dont get me wrong great things happen outside but theres so much control inside

i know for a fact in some areas the police randomly scan electric bills to look for houses that use a lot of electricity in regards to the size of the space they are in.. it is going to court but as of now it is legal...

http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/Issue/story?oid=561535

they check for people who use over 3000kw a month, not sure what the other qualifications are but you can read the corresponding emails between the cops and the electric company.. i think they are attached at the end of the article

it never hurts to be too careful..

Well then I guess its a good thing Im in Canada.....and the guy whos getting the mortgage, his mom is also the regional manager for BChydro, our power company. So if theres ever any type of investigation from my power company Im sure my friend will be the first one to hear about it.

Man did you see how big that list was. Even if I was in America, Theres no way they will be investigating all those people or any of the low end power users on the list.

And when they do start investigating, Im pretty damn sure they will be wasting a lot of time checking out People with fish aquariums, or reptiles, or geeks who run crazy computers and entertainment systems.

My parents live in a 2 bed condo with my little brother. They have flat panel Tvs in both bedrooms and a 42" in the living room. Entertainment systems for all the TVs. My little brothers room alone has computers, TVs, monitor, stereo. Its ridiculous how much power they use and they would never be growing anything.

well that is true but you can still do i great grow and keep the electric bill down..... plus i think theyd scan the whole building anyway
