and as far as the power investigation goes.. i am SURE there is a tad bit more to it than that.. there is no way they can go find info on each one of those houses and find out how large it is, sq footage, residences etc.. i am sure they target some areas more than others, and cross reference criminals and shit cuz i mean there would be some people going under those numbers and some going over those numbers every month... plus some of those people were running 17-22 kilowatts a month!! what the fuck could they possibly be doing LOL

Yeah, If anything programs like this can help small time growers, it keeps cops busy busting large scale growers who are too stupid to cover their own asses and have criminal records.

I have never been arrested, have no record whatsoever so they would have no reason to investigate me......hopefully :-P

For people like me lights are only about 55-60% of the power usage.

Im prolly running 2-3kw with my fans, AC, dehu.

My cheap $25 heater is 900w/1600w depending if its on high or low and I have 2 of them so it adds up fast.

I would not worry about any thing.. look around you.. How many buildings light the parking lots and garages and or what not with MH's. The rule is pay your bills and your good.. No other way to say it.. I think almost 80% of BIG police bust are from someone else getting their bill and yours.. idk? but makes sense to me

Hey Flo I'm going to be building a vertical setup after reading allot of info on it, I'm going to build a 3-4 600w setup, can you please tell me how close I can keep my plants from the bulb without burning them in a vertical setup, sorry if it sounds like a newbie question but I would think most of the heat would float up towards the celing and therefore I could gain a few inches?

ehhh...ive actually seen that most BIG busts happen when commercial growers are too stupid to just pay their bill and get paranoid so they try to steal electricity by tapping into other peoples lines and/or public power lines...resulting in investigations into where the power goes

im pretty sure that this is how the legendary Tennessee Pot Cave went down...

i am working with about 70 plants or so.. I use general hydroponic 3 part, then i add in a touch of calmag, silica blast, and big bud.. last couple weeks i will be using overdrive instead of big bud.. pretty basic but works fantastic.

Grow Ops, i would start the plants about 18 inches away, because they will have a tendency to grow towards the light. most of mine are about a foot away with no burns at all.. and i have a few that are about 8 inches away with slight discoloration but nothing severe... they are the fattest of em all LOL. i did have a couple that dove into the light about 2 inches away and got burned but nothing too serious, just a few fan leaves.

and yea i think for the most part even if you did have a large electric bill and they wanted to investigate you, as long as you dont throw shit away in your garbage, have your room sealed up and insulated very well, and dont sell out of the place they wouldnt be able to build a case against you.. cuz if they came to court and said that someone came in and saw it, but nobody ever goes over there they would have to produce a witness which could be easily proven they hadnt seen sheeeeet

Somebody gotta trick!:finger: Look around at how many places there are to grow:shock: Shit could be anywhere and they're just to many reasons that somebody could be using power. I got a 290 gallon reef tank and I run 2 250 watt MH and nobodies beating down my door.

if you read that article i posted you will see that cops actually are checking peoples electric usage for pot grow ops in conjunction with local utility companies.

True, but even then what if your running a 1000 watt heater in your house. And then some people are just stupid and have 500 to 600 dollar bills because they crank the ac up and leave the windows open.. My sister always has a 400+ bill, but on my part I never had one over 180 even in the middle of summer. And that was with a 600 and 400 watt hps's and fans and every thing else for 30 + plants. Where I live now I light the drive way with a 400 MH and also have two 400s to keep people out of my yard at night. And I also have a new hot tub that is always running.. not including the central heat and all the electronics and my tools

On a different note, the tenn.. pot cave was busted because the house caught on fire, not because of the power.. And they believe that cruel play was intended.. Someone probably had problems with the guy so the burnt his house down.. it happends in the ghetto everyday.. neighbors call the cops on crack houses, and the cops do nothing, so they neighbors that dissapove take matters in their own hands.. Plus the guy posted the video of the cave on youtube.. then said catch me if you can bill... probably not a good idea..

I promise you 2400 is not a problem. But there are ways Ive heard with weird light cycles. I think Its like in 6 hour cycle. where it comes on for six hours then dark for six hours. Sounds weird and Idk if it works. But thats one thing I heard the cops look for.. is the amount of time and how long the power stays on.

yea youll probly be fine.. especially if your not the only one in your house.... alot of ppl waste a lot of power so if you conseve and grow itll just look like you waste power and anyway cops are looking to take down big comercial grows with that not a smaller one

Hey FLoJoe thanks for the reply, I have started to design mine now, 8" away lol thats insane! your defo making your bulbs efficent, how long do you veg for? And at how many inches do you start flower? heres a link to my design thread, have a look I'd like to know what you think, I havent started building it yet as I'm moving house in 2 weeks.

i veg till they are about 12-15 inches tall which usually has taken about 2 weeks from clone

thanks Masterofgenetics, ya i have been lazy haha, i just started using my ripening formula with overdrive.. i believe i am on day 43 right now so i will post some more pics on day 45 when we have about 2 weeks left! coming down to the final stretch
