exactly. this is the major factor no one considers. 15K-20K is more than enough to set up a big grow and pull down a more elbows than a 80's WWF match. However the question is CAN YOU SELL IT?

Its really not that easy. Ive know many who dump tons of money into growing who run into countless problems and errors (mold, rippers, sub par quality mj etc) but even those who grow a FANTASTIC looking crop can have a hard time selling to clubs or otherwise.

On the streets and in the clubs of california you'll have a hard time. mostly because many others have had the same idea you do and all come here looking to cash in but its just flooded the market now theres just about as many growers as there are smokers it seems like.

Just because you have great bud doesnt mean you can sell it. clubs these days have to turn down AAA+ quality bud because they have too much AAA+ quality bud already.

only way you can sell to club in california (especially in the upcoming months like oct-dec) is either get lucky and find someone in need before anyone else or be prepared to take a lot less for it than its worth. this isn't an issue if you have 50+ lbs in stock but your average grower holds 2lbs max usually so they need top dollar to make their living.

Your best bet at that point would be to sell it to customers yourself or sell it illegally to those without cards as theres always a demand for those without cards to get bud since they cant just go to a club and buy some. thats the dangerous part. are you prepared to commit felony after felony for illegal dealing and possibly risk being shot/robbed.

I know its california and many out of staters think cali is all laid back but the robbers rob the same here as they do anywhere and thats w/ guns and they are NOT afraid to use them. a kid got killed right around the corner from my house for dealing tp the wrong person. guy got a call...made a small sale...guy called back a few hrs later asked for a bigger amount...showed up with a buddy...pulled a gun...guy fought back...bam...dead at 18. sad.


Selling the mj is one of the most overlooked issues new growers face. it never dawns on them that once the crop is harvested you have to be able to sell it or its virtually useless unless you plan on smoking it all to yourself or sitting on it for 4-5 months.


your best bet (in my honest opinion) is to come and grow your crop legally under california guidelines...harvest your crop and take it back to where ever you're from. that way you'll get top dollar for it and wont have such a hard time finding buyers.

the market in cali has been flooded for a long time now. trust us.

If that cash includes money to buy a system, then I would say don't do it. If you already have a system and you're talking about moving out here, then you're talking about renting and blowing up a 2 car garage. Cali ain't Michigan. It's fucking expensive. You'll need that money just for living expenses, rent, bills, etc until you harvest.

Basically, you can't buy anything for 10-20k in Cali. That's not enough to afford to buy a system you could live on + rent and pay bills. Oh yeah, and the competition is brutal. Don't expect to just turn out a harvest and be able to immediately sell it for top dollar. It's not like that. Takes a while to build a network. Even when you do buyers will jack you around.

Also you'll want to plan your timing on the move just right. If you move the wrong time of year you'll go broke because you won't be able to make a big enough profit on your stuff. You'd want to move ~ New Years so you can pull a few crops in the spring/summer at peak value before harvest season. By mid September you'll want to have enough money saved up to get you through the harvest season where bud prices get basically cut in half.

If you're planning on only living off of grow money, you're really cutting it close with that amount of money. Unless you already own a nice system, I'd say you can't afford the move as of yet. Everything here is really expensive and the competition is brutal.

Alot of folks seem to think that you can get those AAA strains any old where. Not true. I've been at this for over 20 years here in so cal. It's a constant battle to aquire top strains. Forget seeds. Seeds are a joke. If you go seeds, buy about 100+, label, clone, bloom, and highgrade. In about 6 months you'll have a decent pheno mother of that strain Cuts from dispensaries are NOT AAA. No self respecting grower with a hot strain is going to sell cuts for 10 bucks each. Everything myself and my commercial buddies grow are cuts from other growers. You hear people saying you need contacts because you do.

Come on out. Get a job. Settup a couple lights in the garage. Spend some time locating a couple amazing strains. Perfect growing said strains for producting. When you have a pheno that a couple collectives are interested in, start expanding your op. This is how we all started out years ago. Just build up slow and steady...just like any other business. If you got what it takes, you'll be successful. But this is not any easier than starting a construction company, a dry cleaning business, or whatever. If you're not willing to put in the time and hard work, forget it.

collective gardener..Hey boss u have a great space and that would be my plan also once i got settled..But i just want a 2 bedroom apt or house, 1 bedroom to be used for my plants, and my closet in the other room have a mother and clones in there...Just running 3x 600w in bedroom and a 250mh for clones and mother..And after a few crops and an outdoor season i would want to expand..Also how do u join a collective?? How do they work? How much to rent a room or space if thats how it works..

If you want to try and legally grow, you don't join a collective...you become a collective. My attorney charges around $3,500 to set it up. I'm not quite sure what you mean about renting a room/space.

Just so you know, your chances of moving an outdoor crop here are pretty slim. Your best bet would be to take it out of state. We have some of the best outdoor weed farmers in the world here. That's no bullshit. These days, even they are having a hard time moving product within the state. Those without established clients have been taking their wares out of state.

My plan would be to hold it till outdoors was out of season ya know..Maybe there would be a dry spell and i would have that..As far as renting a space, i saw on another thread somewhere they said u could rent lockers or something like that...Dont u have other people that grow at ur collective? Do they pay rent or something..

It's not only that there's a flood of outdoor at harvest time. Outdoor just isn't in demand as much as AAA indoor. And, believe me, you won't be the only one sitting on outdoor until spring. I'm not trying to dissuade you. You just need to know the reality of the sittuation out here. Dry spell? There is no longer any such thing...any time of the year. Keep in mind, we have growers out here harvesting several hundred pounds of the best outdoor weed grown.

I don't know about any grow "lockers" for rent. That just sounds like a total nightmare. I'm picturing more of a mite factory than a grow op. Not to mention rip off central. And, no...there's nobody else that grows at my op. Only 4 of our members even know where it is. These 4 people have been trimming for me for 15 years, and I trust them to know where I grow. The only people to have keys are myself and my wife.

Its dry right now for perfect grade A+ high quality well finished medicinal grade organic cannabis thats not all dry and brown.
Example, mine is nitrogen packed all year till august.

Topic OP: As long as your not competing with the guys growing tons of shitty weed then you can be ok but you would sit on it.
Always a market for dank outs.
