Rubbermaid door question

I am setting up my first ever grow of northern lights in stacked 35 gallon rubbermaids. I've done my research and searched the forums for all the "how to's" so i feel pretty confident. My only question is with accessibility. Anyone know how to cut/add a decent sized door to the upper half so you can actually work comfortably? I'm going for stealth so i would like this door to be re-sealable with weather proof lining. I do not want to cut out a hole on top because I actually can't reach the bottom if i had to reach all the way down from the top. it has to be on the side. Any suggestions/ideas/threads i may have missed that answer this? Thanks for all the help.

I have seen some Rubbermaid setups where they just took off the top. No door needed and extra leaks to fix.

I have looked at about 100 different rubbermaid grow setups and no one cut in an access door. I'm just trying to be a little innovative.

why go with rubbermaids? if this isnt a stealth issue, I would install vertical posts to hang whatever your light rig is from, into the bottom chamber, then, the top container would be inverted and just placed over the top and latched on. this way when you're messing about with your plants you just remove the top half, no biggie, and there's your plants. the only reason I didnt do it this way when I ran a rubbermaid was because I had a hydro resovoir filling up most of the space in the bottom chamber, and my plants needed the extra width up top.

I wish smell wasn't a factor but unfortunately in my situation it is to an extent. Based on what I have read, 1 plant can stink up a whole house. So I have to be stealthy and keep things air tight.

Air tite is not an option unless you are generating co2. that being said it will likely still be too hot in your chamber. cutting doors is only going to excacerbate the problem as you will never be able to seal it properly short of silver flashing tape. invest in an ozone generator, or carbon filter if smell is an issue. what is your lighting plan?

I'm going with cfl lights for my first go around. I plan on using a bunch of weather proof stripping around the edges to prevent any extra smells.

what I'm trying to say is you need a fan to bring new air into your box, and to blow hot air out. no amount of weather proof stripping will contain the air that you HAVE to circulate.

I was going to go with a passive intake with a 2 or 3" pvc elbow and then exhaust is going to be either a 4" pc fan or a 6" duct fan from home depot blowing into a home made carbon filter. I know airflow is very important thats why i am leaning to the 6" fan but i don't know if i need anything that big/strong just for 1 or 2 plants in a rubbermaid. The concern is just having enough pressure to blow into the filter. If I find I need a fan on the intake i can always add it.
