Rubbermaid Grow Box

I already looked but I guess I'll have to look specifically for the pool section. I found some test strips in the aquarium section but they were useless because they only (inaccurately) gauge ph's between 6 and 8. I was also thinking I should look in either a hardware store or a pool supply. I'll try and get that today, but if not it looks like I might be ordering one.
Yeah, that is fine. It should have a block on the strip that changes color and you have to visually decide if it is closer to 6, 8 halfway to 8 ect..

Hey all. I wasn't able to level out my ph as quick as I wanted to, but it's finally sitting around 6, which is good considering before it was sitting around 8.3. So I'm pretty sure the problems I've been having are due to ph. Here are some pics. Now that the ph isn't crazy high, how long do you think the plant will take to show signs of improvement?

Edit: Temp is now fluctuating between 82 and 86. Humidity is between 34 and 43

Ahhh the maids grow I own at this. you need more Lights better ventilation. What soil you using? Use bottled water if your ph is going crazy. When growing in rubbermaid you dont want to veg for a long period of time. rubbermaid our for keeping your grow DL and needing medicine in a fast way. Try to upgrade your rubbermaids and get 30 or 40 gal ones.

Damn, I just got slapped with a handful of knowledge haha. I had 6 lights but I took alot of them out in order to bring my plant back to health.

The soil is just some MG Organic Potting Mix. It's like 10-5-5. Lately I've also been misting the plant with some seltzer water as a C02 supplement.

Alright, let's start off small. Let's just work on the recovery process.
1. Remove all light bulbs, leave only ---> TWO of your 6500k lights
2. Lower the lights
3. Let soil dry a bit
4. Attempt to lower temperatures
There is always the chance that it was a genetic deficiency in the actual plant. We will work on the rest once it has recovered and gained size. It is WAY too small for 3 weeks, mine is already 4-5x as big at like 15 days.

How many lights do you recommend I have? They are 26w. The bottled water method sounds good, I didn't know they have perfect ph, but it has to be better than my tap. My tap runs at about 8.3, which I unknowingly watered my plant with and fucked it up to begin with lol. My ventilation is about a 4in computer fan, it's 24v DC, but I run it on a 12v DC power supply to keep the noise down, because this is a stealth grow. I'm growing it in my basement behind a bunch of other rubbermaid totes used for storage. I'll definitely have to get one of those 40 gallons. Thanks for all the advice MuppetMan. Everything is appreciated.

Do you have any sort of intake air? I have a feeling another problem is you're just pushing stale air around. Cut a hole at the bottom of your rubbermaid container for intake. If you want to seal off light leaks just cut a paper towel roll into thirds and make a Z, stuff it in the intake hole and you'll have a nice light resistant air tube. This will let air in while still cutting out light. And two lights nice and close will do far more than 6 lights spread far apart. My friend keeps his lights a mere 2-3 inches away and they're doing wonderful. Is your soil all big chunks like that? My friend found he needed a finer soil for his plants to take off. The stuff he has now is like ground coffee and his plants love it. It's Schultz brand and so far all the seedlings love it and are turning into beautiful young plants.

There are definitely parts that are finer in the soil, but most of it looks like that ya. I'm a little afraid to transplant it so soon because she's still little. Is it just schultz organic potting soil or something like that? I already have a passive intake. Here are some pics. Thanks for all the input timtam.

Edit: She popped soil about 4 weeks ago, but she was unknowingly fed 8.4+ ph water for about 3 and a half weeks.

When using tap water did you let sit out for 24-48 hours before using it? I use tap and my girls seem to like it just fine.

Ya definitely, I usually let the pot get really light between waterings. Do you think that's enough passive intake? Thanks for the input. It's supposed to be some mango kush, so i can't wait to see what it smokes like.

You have a 4" exhaust fan right? How big is that passive? About the same? Should be fine... how hot is the air that is being sucked in? Hopefully nice and cool. Stay high

Yup the fan is 4" running on 12v DC. One of the passive intakes is about 4" with three smaller ones underneath. The air being sucked in feels cool if you put your hand on the intake vent.

At this point I would consider getting her in to new soil it doesn't look like much progress over the last few days

How do you recommend I change the soil? One friend suggesting just getting a spoon and scooping from underneath, but I'm kinda afraid of hurting her. What do you suggest?

Yup.. since you want to get rid of old soil make sure soil's dry don't take too long but be gentle. These girls are resilient but the roots are fragile.
