Rubbermaid Purple Ryder Grow Of Doom II

Quick update. Over the last 2-3 days the sprout has not grown at all, the first leaves are still curled up and the newer leaves are not extending out and still a bit curled themselves. This is very concerning as I've never had anything just stop. Also the second bean that popped has not pushed out of the soil either. I'm really starting to hate these Jiffy pods, and may have to do some serious soil surgery if things do not improve for the sprout and seed. Also today the sprout is a week old and barely looks like its 3-4 days old, and barley hanging in there. Photos to come later tonight.

You have to soak them in ph'd water over night or that might be just rockwool i've tried half a dozen ways to pop beans and i stick with and by the paper towel method then Fox Farm happy frog for 2 weeks then Fox Farm Ocean Forest for its permanent home. Sry your having so much trouble sucks that its with breeder beans and not bag beans. Hope things pull through for you. Get pics up maybe we can help.

Thanks for the support guys. So a bit of more bad news. Checked the popped seed to see if it had done anything since I checked it last and the little root had fallen off the bean. So I'm pretty sure that bean is now shot. But! it still had a little nub on it so I took it out of the pod all together, put it in some FFOF and hoping it will come back. As for the sprout, here's a couple photos. It looks healthy? Just...stunted.

:( and youre using great soil
Cant really think of anything unless the PH of your water is off or you are over/underwatering

I'm thinking that the pod is retaining so much moisture on the bottom of it that it may be causing some minor root-rot. It's dry and hot as shit here so I'm trying to keep it cool and hydrated. I may be inadvertently causing more damage due to the pod holding moisture.

Final Update. The seed and seedling did not make it. I'm guessing the constant moisture of the pod and my lack of research into them ended up being the final nail in the coffin. I will resurrect this thread if I ever order more of these seeds, and I may after a few grows down the road. I'm sure my obsession with getting some purple buds will bring me back before the year is done. I will be starting a new thread here in the next few days for the Short Stuff Super Cali-Haze for those that are interested. I've read it's a longer road with that auto so, let the grow begin.

Sevren. sorry ive been away. A lot of the new auto strains are very intolerant of foxfarm ocean forest off when they are starting out. go get some worm castings pots and just some fine soil. I use pro mix, its the same thing your commercial gardener uses for flower beds. but any basic soil will do. secondly put another fan in that rubermaid. Ill post you a pick of the auto im doing at the moment lstd 5 weeks in flower.

I run happy frog in 16oz red and white party cups for the first two weeks or so then go into ocean forest and i ONLY germ in a wet paper towel and ziplock just go back to what you where doing and what you know works for you. I really wanted to see ya get those purple nuggets dont give up on your dream buddy! Did you ever get pollen off that male i missed what happened to him.

Thanks for the advice. But I didn't use FFOF for this last grow. I used Jiffy Pods, which for some reason caused me all sorts of problems. Moisture, too compact, eh, I need to do some more research to see what exactly went wrong other than me rushing. Needless to say, I'll be using just plain soil next time. As for the fan, I may have to put in a small simple fan to circulate the air more during this heat. The 180 CFM pc fan is doing good, but may need some help.

Yep, going to go back to using party cups and soil for the Short Stuff. I did get pollen from the last male! It's sitting in my freezer.

Get some normal organic non nuted soil and grow some normal seeds would be my suggestion.
Keep at it though!
