Running AC on low vs high for the fan...any different for energy efficiency?

I have a portable 8000 BTU unit running about 1kw/hr atm...just wondering if i changed the fan speed (using medium now) to either low or high if it would make a difference on energy use throughout the month?

I also have a 8k btu A/C...The main power consumption isnt in the fan, but in the compressors...The fans are only a few watts...like maybe 100 or so...

The main wattage is used by the compressor cycling on and off...forcing coolants through the manifolds and such...

Switching to low instead of high will lower the power consumption only a little bit.

Agreed, it's the compressor that's eating the kwh not the fan. I bet you wouldn't even see a difference.
