Running airstone in watercan (overkill?)

I grow in both soilless and co/co. I started running the airstone in my watering can a few minutes each time before I water or add a nute solution to add extra oxygen in the water. I heard of someone doing this with good results. Is this a myth or is it worth my time?:leaf:

Its a waste of time if you have soil or promix because the soil will suck air in automatically when you water.

If your water is sitting around for 24+ hours I'd use an air stone to ward off anearobic bacteria. If you use tap water and want to dechlorinate the water - using an air stone will speed that process up. If mixing nutrients and letting it sit to mix thoroughly, I'd use an air stone. But it's probably not worth the effort if just doing it to increase dissolved oxygen a bit before pouring into soil or medium - the gained DO would be minimal at best and temporary. Just one guy's opinion.

i like this, it might be one of those things where you might be better off keeping an experiment diary from start to finish and look at the end results to see if it was worth it or not, have fun a long the way ;-)
