i will not have enough jars for this years harvest, does pickle jars & zip lock bags work just as good?

pickle jars and the like work good once washed and cleaned well ime, but zip lock bags, not as well as the trics get stuck on the plastic and you can never get them out, not to mention plastic bags are permeable unlike glass..

Any jar or bag will work but I'd make sure the jars don't smell before you put your stash in them.

yes i use pasta sauce jars ive saved over the years. do not want to buy so many jars

I use pickle jars when im in need but take some cooking lard or something like crisco and smear it give the lid a good coating around the ring , it will absorbe the pickling shit in the ring.

Walmart has 2 gal heritage jars for 10.00 each. I use those with a bit of weather striping on the lid to keep it air tight.

You can also get cases of 12 quart jars for around 8-10 bucks at Walmart also.
