Runoff

So I can't really afford a drip system, and moving my 8 girls around is getting to be too much for me as well as watering 3 liters of water for each of them every 3 days because I'm not very strong. Does anyone here think it would be ok for me to water each plant with 2 liters every 2 days without getting any runoff so I don't have to move any of my plants around? Or is getting some runoff absolutely crucial to growing a good crop?

If you don't get any runoff you could get salt build ups or dry soil pockets . You can use a cheap wetting agent that will help saturate all of the medium with less water. This will help a little.. Why do you have to move them with the run off? As long as you are checking your ppm and ph of your run off and not letting it get too high.. You can just let the plants soak up a little run off.. As long as they aren't sitting in standing water a long time that should be fine . Or a turkey Baster is a decently easy way to suck up some of the water from the saucers without having to lift the plants every time. I hope this helps

If they are used to getting 3 liters and it's cut back all of the roots now in place may not get water. Run off keeps fungus gnats out and you won't get root rot problems. I like the turkey baster idea of patrickkaw's. Gotta small shop vac?
I know moving pots around all the time can be a drag. Good luck

Maybe I'll make some sort of stand this next time around, with screens for them to sit on above my floor, and put bowls of some sort on under them so i only have to move the bowls and empty out the runoff.... idk...

I remember before you were saying you can't grow them too tall. If that isn't an Issue now you can get trays and set them on small blocks or something like your saying to get off the floor.. Keep one side A little higher than the other. Poke a hole in the low side and have a bucket under so it catches the runoff . I Hope this helps, good luck

why not just get and put them on a drain table,finish feeding open drain into 5 gallon bucket
