Rusty's 1200w "Amsterdam Bubblegum" Hydro/DWC

I'm guessing that there will probably be plenty of stow-aways in the shed now that the cold weather is here. I've very picky about the insect company I keep too. Its not just the caterpillars I'm worried about. Huntsmans, White Tails, House spiders, Red backs, Gnats, Ants, and Centipedes are a big no no for me.

Yeah i Say 'No-Thanks' to the Little Bighting Buggers aswell.. At least u guys don't get Funnel Webs down there..

I'm only an hour from Wollongong. I'm sure that there would be a few of those around here too. Second deadliest spider in the world supposedly. The deadliest spider's (Brazilian wandering spider) venom supposedly gives you uncomfortable erections that make you impotent. You would think that it would be kinda hard to get it up if you were dead.

I'm having trouble getting my humidity past 60%. Ambient temps in the grow room is around 19°C/50%, under the hood is 24°C/60%. The water is already 26°C and I don't really want to push it any higher. If I lowered the hood temp, it would increase condensation, right?. Would that increase humidity, or lower the amount of free moisture in the air from it collecting on colder surfaces?

damn, that thing is fucking small haha but i'm not sure about the humidity. mine never goes under 55%. it goes up to 70% at night, it might be because i leave my windows open to let fresh air in and mine are in a basement, so i'm not even sure.

They were tiny caterpillars but they had already chewed up a fair bit of the first two seedlings.

Its below 10°c tonight and everything is going on in a well ventilated single car garage. I've got it running on an 18/6 cycle from 1400 till 0800 with the night cycle during the day to keeps temps more even. I might switch it around when I go 12/12 depending on the heat output of 3 X 400 watt lamps. 9 of the 15 seeds have come out so far with signs of life in 5 more which should be up and at it tomorrow. I'm expecting to loose a few seeds but thats to be expected.

I've put my bubble propagator into an esky which seems to fit the setup perfectly. I'm going to check it one more time tonight to see if the temp and humidity goes up a bit.

I made a few "slight" modifications to the setup to hopefully speed things along a bit. I've got the humidity back up and if all goes well the temps should get back up to the high 20's.

I packed everything in as tight as possible I ran out of "T" pieces again. One more and it would be working nicely. I have all the pots nice and aerated but will need to get another air pump and some more stones to get the full DWC effect once the roots get into the base pots.

I know its a bit early to transplant so I planted them carefully in a coco ball which should keep them moist enough until they get going. I've planted them below the rim of the pot because I'm going to bury them up to their cotyledons once they stretch up a bit. Supposedly you can form more side roots from the first node to increase uptake. It should help to keep them standing straighter in the pots too.

This is what its going to look like by the time I switch over to flowering. I hope I've got enough room to do this or I'm going to end up having to SCRoG hardcore.

That is a very interesting design. I never thought about just hanging a light down the center like that. Combining vertical and horizontal lighting.

Google sketch up dude.
I could never figure out which would be the best way to run the lights.
Horizontally or laterally??

Does it matter?
