?'s About L.E.D's - Better then 400w?

ok so im upgrading from CFL's to either a 400w HPS/MH Combo or a 90w LED UFO

Ive seen video,post etc claiming that a 90w LED UFO is equivalent to a 400w HPS.

As many of you prolly agree this seems a little sketchy. Has anyone used these 90 UFO ( Red and Blue mix) lights?

The prices is around the same but the savings on the electric bill would be huge.

how many plants did u grow?
estimated light coverage area?
THC content? better,worse, same?

LEDs are still very new. I would suggest that you become the LED guru. Can you afford a 90W LED experiment? I dont know the lumins or color spectrum produced by LEDs. Perhaps in 5 years, LEDs might be the only lights growers use anymore, who knows?

400w will have better coverage and intensity. I use a 90w UFO its great for vegging. It has a very small useful area, like 2 by 2. It doesnt penetrate the canopy very well.

If you are only doing 2-4 small plants, the UFO will work, if you want any kind of weight, or if you have room to grow a few 3-4 foot tall plants, the UFO just isnt enough.

im also thinking of getting a that UFO LED it looks awesome for the average closet growr but as greensister said i woudnt say its %100 worth your money

Not gonna lie though, the LED growlights look so funky...That is a selling point to be honest, like a discoroom/growroom hehe

a good alternative , get you 400 watt and then do another crop , then afterwords get your finances to get a 90 led and then you can really see the diference. i can say however my local hydro shop has those 500$ ones ( not the shitty ufo's that are so inconsistent ) and they also have 2 1,000 watt hps going in a separate tent and ofcourse the led plants are not growing as big but they are growing at an acceptable pace. i know people expect the power of a 400watt but leds cannot do that yet , however they are GREAT if your looking for less heat and less on your electric bill.

absulutly not led's suck ass i know two people who bought them and thay suck and they couldnt even sell after they bought them becuse no one buys them dont waste ur time

People need to realize its not LEDs its the LEDs that they use, most LED systems sucks, i just received my 126w Penetrator from hydrogrowled, they seem to be the most promising so far, they have the correct spectrum and lens angle, 2 import factors.
