We cannot rely on a Vaccine ever being produced. We haven't for any air born Covid as yet. Mind you the money and resources being thrown at is amazing so we may have one in a year or so. Guess the countries with the highest Covid populations will be the test cases to see if its safe and its longetivity.

Oh yeah, the money is insane but the more I listen to virus experts and scientists is that it cant be rushed no matter how money they throw at it.
The Zika vaccine came out too fast and it ended up giving people a disease worse than the virus.

There was never a need to develop a vaccine for SARS or MERS because they both killed too quickly to spread like covid 19 has. Both MERS and SARS were successfully contained. There is no economic incentive to creat a vaccine. Scientist started vaccine research on both at one point but were shutdown due to lack of interest and funding.Anyone else think that a safe vaccine for covid-19 was going to be out by the end of this year?
I had no idea it took 10-15 years to create a safe and effective vaccine.

There is also no SARS or MERS vaccine, even those viruses came out 8+ years ago.
Do you think the government is giving the 12-18 month scenario so people don't panic? Apparently the virus mutated from D to G and might mutate again. Making it even harder to create a vaccine in a short amount of time.

Ignoring normal safety protocols? Not sure i agree with you. Could cause a new and different problem.
I think its all being rushed to take advantage of govt and investor money. Big pharma and the odd "other" are making a fortune atm.
Hopefully my Island can stay covid free whilst these things are tested on populations that did not choose to fight it.
We need a near instant 100% accurate indicator test to keep the infected out. This test is proving difficult.
