Safe PPM levels for hydro seedlings!!! HELP

hello people!!! i fucked up

i have 4 DWC seedlings 18 days old from seed.....

at first i thought 2 of my seedlings were having calcium deficiencies since i use RO water.... so at like 14 days i uped the PPM to about 300-340 (500 Conversion) aparently this was too much for them and now all of them have brown burn spots.....

i drained half the water from the rez and added fresh RO water... now the ppm is about 170-190...

i didnt notice today that the spots had spread on some of the upper leaves, but might this be because they were already burned? or is 190 for a 18 day old seedling too much?

i read that 100-250 PPM was a safe range for seedlings...


my PH is always 5.5-5.9 and the Rez Temp is always 64-68F

is this fixable? thanks in advance!

keep it simple and keep calm/be patient. two of the best tips I have received, and I'm back on track after similar worries.

You wouldn't put shampoo on a new born baby's head would you? No need to do the same if your roots ain't there.

i don't think your ppm is too high. i think it's too low!!

if using RO water, are you adding cal-mag? you shoul start with cal-mag until you get 100-150 ppm, and build yout nutes from there.
unless you are using nuts with 'soft water formula, like GHE flora 3 part.

i checked my diary. at day 18 i was on 400 ppm. and my plants were delayed a week due to brown slime and hydrogen proxide treetment.

i don't consider plants in DWC to be 'seedling' at day 18. only firs two weeks, and then they are in veg.

besides that, meybe your water were too long under PH of 5.8, and you get luck out of MG.

wow those plants look awesome! yea i have RO water with 0ppm and i did add calmag but it was at 1/4 strength i felt like i should have added more!

Hi mate!

i just checked my grow diary again.

first, i started to feed them from DAY ONE. people say you start feeding in DWC when you have first set of true leaves.

i also use mainly RO water. here is my mix for day one, 27 liter reservoir:

10 liter - tap water diluted to 200 ppm with RO water.

10 liter - RO water with nuts, 150 ppm. (GHE flora 3 part, soft water formula)

7 liter - RO water + cal-mag, 150 ppm.

together in the reservoir with some PH adjuster - 175 ppm.

by day 4 the ppm level was 200 with some evaporation and PH down (i had bacterias problem, causing the ph to rise)

from dey 4 to dey 6 i uped the nuts level at 50 ppm each day by adding nuts directly to the water.

so by the end of day 6 the ppm at 350.

then i had seerius brown slime attack, i tried to clean the water with hydrogen proxide, and one of the plants died.
i solved the problem later using heisenberg tea, but but groth has stunted for a week or so.

i do always aim for ph 5.5-5.6, whats the best ph range then?

5.8 is optimal, but youshould alweys let it drift abit.

this wey it can get more elements easily in eg the PH tends to rise slowly, and in flower to droo alowly.

i start at PH 5.5 in veg, and corect it back down at 6.1

dude WTF i just did that to my best seedling and it burned on me! haha im more confused than ever!.......... i added about 130 PPM of NPK and then about 130PPM of CaliMagic and next day my bottom leaves were burned......
