Sativa?

I have a high humid climate and wonder should I get sativa or indica stains, and will the high humidity cause any serious damage?

What are others in your area having success with? Any landraces nearby? IME anytime foreign genetics are introduced the potential for problems increases greatly and this goes for any plants.

It’s illegal where I’m from so other people don’t do it and I wanted to test it out, and the area I have is great it’s jus the high humidity that scares me

You may have problems fighting bud rot.. but really it boils down to genetics of the plants.. sativa maybe the way to go... i myself would grow a sativa dominate with alittle indica in the mix just to have a shorter flowering time..

Wind tunnel, remove some of the surrounding vegetation, plant in a high spot, defoilate, these are some things that may help. Search for a breeder that breeds in a humid area and ask them. Good luck

I grow photos and autos. Autos are a pita and take about as long as photos and are sometimes tiny and sometimes goddamned monsters. I'll probably do one more photo + auto run and then switch to just photos. Just my 2 cents.

Your better off with Sativa's than Indica's. There are strains that are more resistant to bud rot, I'd look into those. I used to grow a block from the ocean in one of the foggiest places in the world and never had rot issues.

Check out Match Maker Genetics. Hes in Hawaii, and specializes in strains that are mold resistant. Theyre not mold proof, but have been tested on the rainy side of one of the Hawaiian islands. Maui I believe. He just did a drop that took 3 years to accomplish.

Skunk Doggy Dawg, Skunk O Rama, Skunkdog BX2, Sour Skunkdog all rate a 9 out of 10 for mold resistance. Hes got more that rate an 8. He also tells if tested n a Greenhouse, or Indoors, or Outdoors.

Sativa is better suited for high humidity as that is where they are from. However they get HUGE and can reach 15 feet or taller. Thin, small and wispy buds that take weeks longer to finish then an Indica or Hybrid will.

Indica and Hybrids can be grown but will need to be thinned way down by snipping off every other bud site on each main cola to prevent bud rot. A grower I used to converse with grew in the South Florida Everglades and used this method successfully. His thinking was half a harvestable plant beat one you tossed due to mold. He'd plant twice what he needed knowing how extensively he needed to thin them down.
