Okay but would it still have that energetic high?

damn.... i never thought the cannabis plant would be so versatile.
It would take much shorter to grow, but will it lower potency?

And sativa's grow large, i mean i would force flower it at 12"
but wouldn't it have a lower yield than a sativa like at 12FT!?
I'll take widowman's word for it though, cause i don't know much about it yet.

Key was the 5th internode. Most growers accept this as a good early point to begin flowering, even though you can flower at any time. There're 2 camps on the issue of lower potency due to early flowering. There are those who believe once the plant reaches that 5th node, you won't necessarily affect potency. The other camp believes if you allow the plant to mature naturally, the way mother nature intended and built into the plant's genetic code, you'll get the optimum potency (provided the environment is ideal).
Most flower their plants early to get a return on their investment as early as possible or to limit height of their plants, which can triple during flowering. If I had the space, I'd let my plants grow to 5' before flowering.

Okay so 5' would be decent that would give you more potency and not be detrimental to it.
Cause i plan on growing sativa's and don't want them to outgrrow my room size.
Also Are you talking 5 nodes total on the whole plant?

I've got a full sativa out on my porch...She's only about 3 1/2'-4' tall because I began flowering (basically took her out of the grow lights and put her outside) about three weeks into her growth.
The biggest difference I've seen in growning Sativa is time. think about when you suppose her growth will be over, and then add a month.

There's a lot of difference between growing pure Sativas and Indicas - Indicas are easy, Sativas are not, for two principle reasons: 1) Pure Sativas stretch and grow very tall and spindly; 2) All Canna plants are high light plants, but Sativas particularly so, due to their origins being in tropical and sub-tropical climates, which means their leaf widths are much slimmer than Indicas meaning less surface area for light.
The biggest problem is their stretch and height - getting far too big for the average grower grow space very quickly, meaning they have to be flowered at a relatively small size - this affects and reduces yield and potency if grown from seed.
To flower when the plants are small means very little vegetative growth time this usually means the plants are flowered when they're not yet sexually mature enough to flower and therefore will be going against their natural genetic program. Plants produce more Cannabinoids the older it gets and a sexually mature plant will always produce more Cannabinoids than a non-sexually mature one.
This rather suggests that the best way to grow Sativas is to grow out a mother and take clones from it. This allows you to flower the clones as soon as they're rooted and the less vegetative time is of no consequence with regards to potency. This also alows you to control their stretch and height to a manageable size.
Pure Sativas will also stretch unnecessarily if given an excess of Nitrogen, so you need to ensure mimimal levels of Nitrogen in the first two to three weeks of flowering when stretch is at it's worst.

A pure sativa would be heaven to grow but for most of us, we don't have the space and privacy. I'd look into a hybrid with a predominantly sativa phenotype. Satori looks like a great candidate. Was it KP or BG who recommended this to me? Can't remember now but thanks. That's my next purchase.

That's why plants grow taller to reach the light.
If there's enough light i don't see the need.
And couldn't ya tie it down?
