I recently have been looking for solar panels to add to my growing equipment. See, I use a converted loft bed outside, with southern exposure so my plants get sunlight and some cover from choppers (LA has a LOT!) as well as hanging lights at nighttime for my vegative plants. I recently saw a solar powered LED lamp that charged up during the day and shined all night, but LED light isn't exactly grow worthy.
I wanted to figure out if there were solar charged lights out there with at least enough lumens to keep my babies from flowering in a 18/6 cycle. (I know the arguments about 24/0, but I've seen enough not to believe it).
Something that a lot of new growers forget is that police look for small apartments with increased jumps in their power bills, so aside from the money saved, generators are just good security for home growers. If you live in a dorm and your light bill is $400 a month, someone might come knocking, so any way to stay off the books is good.
I just wondered if there was any information out there about good solar chargers. Maybe I'll just run down to the highway and try to snag one of the ones they use for their streetlights, or else one of those wind generators you see on large billboards. I mean, I live in Southern Cali, I might as well use the sun as much as I can, no?
