I'm asking because I read in Rosenthal (Growing Marijuana) that when the trichs just start to turn amber, THC is beginning to break down and plants should be harvested. I'm worried about leaving them too long. In fact, a picture in his book of an "overripe bud" looked pretty much like what some of the posters here shoot for.

I pulled a relatively small one yesterday that was just getting a flush of amber on the tips and looked generally very done. This will be an experiment in drying a whole plant upright :^)

this season has been weird...dry and moldy is a new one for me..
i will be trying a upright dry on my "the flav"
can you take a pic of that pic Laney? i wanna see..(did the googs but didn't see it)
i take everything those guys (ed and jorge) say with a grain of salt...
thanks for posting that FF i didn't know the genetics of the cherry kush...

Plants look amazing, you got some really good strains there. Been thinking about my next seed order, looks like tga is the way to go.

you gotta phenotype hunt with tga gear...
my agent orange and jilly bean are dark heart nursery cuts and they do a really good job..
i got a dairy queen (not a dhn cut) that is super airy not that great of a pheno..
i have no idea where im going to get clones next year...hopefully bpg's new spot will be open then...or harborside will deliver clones

Yes - true. I don't agree with some of the things he comes up with but think about them. The amber trich thingy sounds like it makes sense, though. I'll see if I can get a clear shot of that picture.

Señor, I was wondering what you can do with your Ace of Spades bud. I ask because I found a few suspect branches on one plant and removed them yesterday. It should turn out like the ones you pictured. I was planning on vaping or using for cannabutter?

i don't know if you can tell from the pic but there are spots of purple on the inside of the bud..
never grown anything like it before...i would like to try it again...maybe inside...

taking more pics today...
