Scorpion Diablo light stress at 50 percent

All you're doing with a phone app or lux meter is getting an inaccurate reading then taking that inaccurate reading and using a formula to make an inaccurate sum. So basically you're guessing with tools that aren't right for the job. Buy a par meter if you want to get technical. Otherwise you're pissing into the wind.

Not sure what advice you want. Light stress doesn't mean too much light per se. It means the plant doesn't have it's other needs met. Light level is like a gas pedal and the engine needs fuel etc to keep at the speed set by the gas pedal. Either make your environment better or lower the light intensity.
I like this answer best. The pics don't look like a light issue but a feed issue...and it could be both but I would lean to feed based upon the pics. Some P def and likely hungry overall.

... and yes I use the Photone app lol I shoot for under 1000 ...
I use something similar for the Galaxy - Tent Buddy. I agree that they are not as accurate as a PAR meter - but they will help you see if you are within recommended ranges. What is your LUX reading?

I run all my Diablos @ 600 watts 2 feet or less from the tops. No par meters. I use my eyes to tell me what to do. If I see leaf curl I'll lower the watts. Otherwise they stay @ 600 watts all thru flower.

When I first started with leds my vpd was allover (big learning curve getting leaf temp right). During this time I experienced light tox with my 350r’s, once I got my vpd back on track and realised I could feed stronger (and did) I stopped getting light tox with the same cut at same distance. I know this might not help with ur question but it’s allways good to check if something can be improved upon so that the plant can make full use of the light intensity

Here I’ll get a close pic, also anyone use this light I just feel like 50 percent is so low, but I also hear that 50 percent uses way more than “half” power, also yes I’m aware its crowded I still have a slight lollipop and defoil coming up
That's not light stress...I have a diablo too and this is what to much light looks like...Do you have a good controller??

I didn't read all the responses carefully, but it's a good idea for people new to led to look into DLI. I have some plants drooping towards the end of their 18 hour veg period at 50%, while others are still praying. The amount of light a cannabis plant can take is genotype specific, you can make some generalizations, but everything comes down to the specific plant, not strain, plant. DLI will help you properly adjust from lower %s during 18 hour veg cycles to higher %s during 12 hour bloom cycles. So will a Par meter, but if you can't spring for one of those, a $30 lux meter will give you consistency when you flip from 18/6 to 12/12, you just use the meter and adjust your light % and/or height from canopy so the plants are getting the same lux, then slowly adjust upwards from there, over a period of days/weeks to the maximum your plants can take. Keep notes if you find a cut that you like, so you can do even better in the future, and good luck!

If you like Tent Buddy you'll love PPFD Meter. ;)

You are right - I probably would.

But my $$$ was spent over the past couple of years upgrading the lighting to QB/COB's. There's only dust in the growers budget right now. That changes in the spring so I might look at an Apogee.

Nick, I run scorpion diablos and Rspecs. Half way on the dial is over 520w of the 630-650 available. thats about where I max out at in the peak of flower with a really tolerant pheno.
See I didn’t know that that’s what I’m looking for lol thank you all good answers from everyone, shit even switching from hps to Mars hydro I was cooking my plants at first lol

The diablo runs the 648 boards at a tiny bit over 100w per board. Lots of people use their single board offering at 200w
Dont know about all the lighting apps and whatnot, but i have two hlg 648's running at 300+ watts combined in a 3x3 without issues.
I would guess something else is amiss here.

Well this thread cost me a bunch of money. Just ordered a Scorpion R Spec Far Red (they hooked it up with a 25% off code because I missed the sale), a 150 patriot for veg, lux meter, and some other stuff. We are cutting our wattage in half from using crappy LED and switched to all HLG. I can't imagine I'll be running the Scorpion at 100%. Should save some good money over the winter with the rising electric costs.
