SCROG/Bubbleponics yield increase

If anyone has any suggestions on ways to increase yield I'd love to hear it!

Currently growing 6 plants in two reservoirs but using a SCROG method this time to more efficiently make use of canopy space. My two in the middle were stunted but I'm filling the net, yet to be installed, with whatever fills the space first! 4 air stones per tank using RO w/FloraGro nutrients.

From left to right in the photo we have:

GDP
Maui Wowie
NYC Diesel

PH fluctuates between 5.8-6.20.. sometimes down to 5.50 but no further.
575-630 PPM
Use CALMAG and HYDROGUARD too.

Have two 1000W LED grow lights, full spectrum in a 4x4 tent.

My first grow in the same tent and method minus SCROGGING yielded 108 grams between two plants; just topped them at the fifth node and let the new grow tips range from 11 to 12 per plant and the quality was top notch but a QP in a 4x4?! Ugh!

First off, get each plant atleast a 5g container to itself.
Build a RDWC system to control everything together
Your LEDs are not actually 1000w, growers don't go by that parameter. It's important to pay attention to the real watts, or how much power they are actually using.
They likely are only actually 100w, and together, 200w, is not enough for a 4x4.
You need ATLEAST 450w of a high quality LED for that size tent.

Thank you!!

I was wondering about that, I'm no expert on the lights but I do know the cobb LEDs are Cree which are quality, but I'll take your word on the wattage. Any recommendations for an efficient quality light?

No specific order, some good brands include, spiderfarmer, mars hydro SP, mars hydro FC, HLG, viperspectra, maxsisun, migro

I missed the 5gal bucket comment. What's the benefit to setting up each in it's own 5 gal bucket? I'm all for it but I'm curious as to what benefits it offers over what I'm currently doing?

I'm currently looking at SpydrX lights, looks like they are the best. But you mentioned a lot of brands, is there one that's a close second to the SpydrX in your opinion that is a little more economy? If not I might just spring for it, my 2 huge plants only gave me a QP after 4 and a half months total grow time! It's quality but SUPER disappointed with the weight.

More roots, more fruits.
You can put them together, but a full sized flowering plant will want ATLEAST 3g to itself.
If you ran your 6 plants, you might be able to get away with 3 Or 4g per plant since they will be smaller. I use 5g for my 4 plants
5g is kinda the standard, 7g is better.
Also, if you want a good yield, the plants will need more space apart from each other than what you got. A 4x4 tent can definitely hold 6 or even 8 plants, but they need to be evenly spaced apart.
Doing this, plus a good scrog, there is no reason you shouldn't easily get 1lb in the 4x4

Soaking in this info!! Thank you so much!! I'm going to make good use of my weekend and see what I can accomplish!

are those white lids light-proof by the way?
They are. Made of PVC so nothing gets through. I was initially more worried about minimal light seeping through the clay pebbles into the reservoir but I don't have an issue. Not sure if no light is getting through or Hydroguard is helping with what does.

Funny though I'm seriously considering switching my current setup to RDWC since it's still so early in my grow.

So I am considering removing the two plants in the middle, but after some LST I might be able to squeeze the two little middles in. It will be SCROG so my intent is to manipulate the plants as needed but being my first SCROG I know how expectations and the reality can be drastically different! Like when I hoped for a pound and end up with a QP! LOL

I'm also settled on the Spydr 2P for a light. I want this grow to produce way more than last time. RDWC will be my next change!!20210403_134551.jpg

how mnay gallons are those coolers?
They hold 5 gallons each, I could fit more if I wanted. They're each a 48 quart cooler. I simply use 5 gallon jugs to fill up at an RO vending machine along with some gallon jugs for humidifier, top offs/adjustments for previous grow.

how big is that tent?

i'm hardly an expert but those coolers are way too small IMO. i grew 2 plants per 27 gallon tote in a rdwc system. big roots=big fruits. i would re-engineer that whole tent before they get much bigger.

Ok so you struck a nerve that may seriously get me to do the RDWC this grow instead of waiting for next grow. I can't say enough how EXTREMLY DISPPOINTED I was with the quantity of 3.85oz between my last TWO PLANTS! I have an amazing light on the way to help out but re-doing the reservoirs right now would be tough. I could get it done, but I also am ok with not maxed out production so long as I at least get a pound this time. In your opinion and experience, if I left the reservoirs the same for this grow, with my new light (specs below) what do you think I can reasonably expect? I'd be happy with anything over a pound, but anything under that, I'm re-doing the RDWC this weekend if I can!

if I left the reservoirs the same for this grow,
if i were you, that's not an option. those netpots come out, right? you don't even need to go rdwc: you just need bigger reservoirs with lots of bubbles. rdwc would be easier but if you got some skills and time to deal with it, keep kinda what you got but just more (much more ) water volume. keep the 6 plants. never cull a healthy girl either. she might end up being the belle of the ball.

I love the optimism! Those littles are my first ever Maui Wowie's and I so dearly want them! If removed, they'd go in my outside garden but I fear they wouldn't fair as well since I live in the dry desert with extreme heat! I'd shade my garden but still..

As far as amending the reservoirs, do you simply mean add more water? That's an easy fix if so! I already have 4 air stones per reservoir, is that not enough? I run it off of two pumps, one is crap but the other runs 6 quality lines and are split 3 per reservoir for even distribution. Net pots do come out easily, just lift. If you mean to change to a larger reservoir tank, I'd rather just go all in and do the RDWC which is what I really want anyways. I can't wait to change the water from all the way OUTSIDE my tent and not hanging halfway in/out precariously balancing over my precious crop! LOL
