sealing the room

I use duvatine (it's a black fabric used for lots of things, the film industry uses it on set to block out light) to block any light from coming through and if there are any other light/air leaks, I simply use tape. Gaff tape is black and the adhesive is just right for textures like walls and fabrics. Hope that helps!
 
I was told that using any kind of fabric in the grow area will allow mold and such to grow in the fibers. I would use panda w/black side out or reflective mylar
 
the wholr room is covered on poly,just thought i could use something to cover in the gaps between the poly and 2x4.thanks everyone
 
Silicon based caulking used for bathrooms and kitchens is mold resistant. For larger cracks I tend to use Great Stuff expanding foam, and so far no mold issues with it but its not more ghetto looking the a good caulking job.
 
i thought a dark colored exterior door/window sealer caulk would do the job well... easy to work (a little easier to deal with that liquid nails... and if the LN is too thin light leaks through a bit... experience talking... if light is not an issue it's good though)... also the exterior caulk is made to handle the extremes and you can get a very dark brown that is completely opaque ... just my 2 cents

EDIT: ditto on great stuff for big holes
